阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
My brother and I drove to a famous destination last week. Because we were so absorbed in our conversation that my brother took a wrong turn.
Unfortunately, this mistake took us towards a bridge and we had no way to turn back. Unwillingly, my brother paid the bridge fee and drove on. He was clearly annoyed by the mistake and the waste of $4.
Eventually, we reached an exit slipway. As we took it, my
brother noticed a car pulled over to the side of the road. A young guy was standing nearby trying to phone someone. I was busy trying to figure out which way we should go next but my brother pulled over and asked the guy if he needed any help. The young man had a flat tire and needed a wrench(扳手)to get it off.
My brother gave him a wrench, and then began to help him change the tire. We started getting to know the young man who was from a neighborhood nearby. He said that this was a bad week for him. Earlier he had gotten into a minor car accident, and now he had this flat tire on his way home from
work. But he called us “a breath of fresh air” and kept thanking us because he really would have been stuck if we hadn’t come along.
After we had finished the job, he thanked us again and pulled out $20 and tried to give it to us. “No,” I said, “We were never supposed to get on that bridge. We made a mistake, but now we know why we did. It was to help you. Thank you for turning our mistake into a chance to serve.”
Then he asked us where we were going and we told him the sight we were going to. He was surprised, saying the place was not far from his home.

Because we were so absorbed in our conversation that my brother took a wrong turn为后文年轻人做向导带我们去旅游提供了铺垫。Unfortunately,Unwillingly,annoyed说明了我和哥哥当时心情不愉快的,沮丧的,为后文通过帮助年轻人得到了回报,从而心情愉悦,进而为升华主题埋下伏笔。再根据He was surprised, saying the place was not far from his home为后文年轻人做向导回报我们埋下了伏笔。

根据He (the young man) said that this was a bad week for him. Earlier he had gotten into a minor car accident, and now he had this flat tire on his way home from work可看出年轻人最近遇到的麻烦事比较多,终于得到了“我们”的帮助,为后文双倍回报他人做好了铺垫。对话“No,” I said, “We were never supposed to get on that bridge. We made a mistake, but now we know why we did. It was to help you. Thank you for turning our mistake into a chance to serve.”为升华主题做好了铺垫。
3. 整合本篇的故事情节和情感线索:
我”和哥哥一起开车去旅游,路上转错了弯,迷路了,但是路上遇到一个车坏了的年轻人。“我们”帮助了他,帮他换了轮胎,他不断感谢“我们”他为了回报我们的的帮助,邀请“我们”去他家,同时给“我们”做向导……。
二、分析续写段首,确定续写方向
由第一段首句内容He invited us to stay in his home so that we could visit the place early the next day(他邀请我们住在他家,这样我们第二天一早就可以参观那个地)可设问如下:

二、分析续写段首,确定续写方向

He invited us to stay in his home so that we could visit the place early the next day. It was the most convenient way to visit the sight the next day, so we happily accepted his kind offer with gratitude. He jumped into his car, leading us to where he lived. After knowing what had happened, his parents expressed their heartfelt thanks for our helping their son. The family made a big feast to treat us and emptied a comfortable room for us to have a pleasant night.
用so引导并列句及副词happily和介词短语凸显“我”和哥哥的喜悦和感激之情
谓语动词jumped和现在分词leading做伴随状语,突出动作节奏感
使用介词短语after knowing作时间状语和what引导的宾语从句突出时间的先后和感激的理由
用精确性、富节奏的made和emptied一连串动作动词短语推动按时间顺序发展故事

The next day, we got up early to prepare our tour. Not familiar with the destination, my brother and I were discussing which direction we should take when the young man came towards us, insisting on accompanying us on the trip. After having breakfast his parents had prepared with the young man, we set off together delightedly. With the local guide leading us, we were exposed to the charm of the tourist attraction, which became an unforgettable experience. It dawned on me that it was the mistake that gave us an opportunity to help the young man and it was the calm and open mind that lit up our day.
