教材分析
本课来自人教版八年级下第七单元 What’s the highest mountain in the world B 部分, 本单元的语言目标是 talk about geography and nature。本课是阅读课,具有说明文的一些特征,文章结构清晰,2a 读前活动提供了一些词汇,让学生自己组织语言说一说大熊猫,为阅读活动做好话题准备。文章着重训练了学生的寻读技巧:2b 要求学生运用 scanning 的方法快速查找每个数字所表达的意义,而之后的 2c 再次让学生熟练 scanning 的阅读策略,根据问题所要求的信息快速定位并找出问题的答案。通过熊猫生活场景的引入,深入大熊猫面对的问题,引导学生了解大熊猫等濒危动物,培养保护动物的意识。而最后的开放性话题,要求学生想出更多的方法拯救大熊猫,启发学生思考的同时,激发保护拯救野生动物的意识。学生通过阅读,能罗列大熊猫的事实及数据,并能发现大熊猫现在面临的问题,最后能通过自己已有的知识来表达保护大熊猫的相关措施,进而号召大家一起行动,保护动物。
学情分析
1. 八年级英语在中学英语中起着承上启下的作用,学生虽对英语有了一定的基础,但部分学生的学习兴趣不是很高,甚至有厌恶感。还有一小部分学生学习的目的性不是很强,导致学习习惯不好。在英语学习中,他们更喜欢从游戏中或活动中学习,因而,激发他们的学习兴趣,成为课堂上不可或缺的一个环节。为此,我采取了观看视频、pairwork、groupwork等可以吸引学生眼球的辅助工具。这样更能提高他们的学习兴趣,让他们更轻松地掌握英语知识。
2. 学生在之前的英语课堂中已经掌握了一定的阅读技巧,此外,在七年级下册 Unit 5 Why do you like pandas 中学会了描述动物,并有了动物保护的意识,具备了一定的背景知识和词汇量。为了培养学生的阅读能力,课堂上要继续及时给予阅读技巧点拨,以达到让学生熟悉运用的目的。除此之外,教师要给学生适时而恰当的鼓励。学生在课堂上的发言,教师都要尽力加以表扬、鼓励,多运用积极的鼓励性语言,如“Believe yourself !”,“Good","Well done!”等。
3. 学生用英语表达的积极性较低,口语能力较差。由于条件限制,很多学生的口语表达较差,单词发音不够准确,在准备上课之前,一定要帮助学生扫清词汇障碍,并帮助学生树立信心,简化难度,进而达到教学目标。

Step 1.Warming up and lead-in
(1) Take out your hands and do exercises by following the music.
(2) Enjoy a funny and short video about Kungfu Panda, and lead in the topic of the passage.
Step 2. Before reading
Brainstorm: What do you know about pandas Students can discuss from these aspects: appearance, food, habitat and so on.
Step 3. While reading
1. Fast reading
Match the main idea of each part.
Part 1 The life of pandas at Chengdu Research Base.
Part 2. The reasons why pandas are endangered.
Part 3. The ways of protecting pandas.
While doing, tell students to move eyes quickly to find specific information, which is the reading tip of this passage.
2. Careful reading
Task 1. Read para.1&2, answer the questions.
(1). What is Lin Wei's job
He is a panda keeper.
(2). What are panda keepers doing at 8:30
They are preparing milk for the baby pandas’ breakfast.
(3). What do the baby pandas do when they see the keepers
They run over to them with excitement and walk into their friends and fall over.
Task 2. Read Para.3 and find out what these numbers mean:

课后反思
本课为人教版八下 Unit 7 B 部分阅读课,利用 Kungfu Panda 视频的方式导入新课,易于激发学生的学习兴趣。整个教学过程基本完整,各个环节衔接自然,最后使用短视频升华情感。整堂课最大的感觉是非常流畅,以练习略读、扫读阅读策略入手,让学生逐步深入了解文章;借助思维导图引导学生复述文章,既巩固了目标词汇,又提高了学生利用思维导图概括文章的能力。通过视频发起拯救动物的号召,以“别等珍稀了才珍惜”来结束本节课,升华了本课的主题。本节课的不足之处是课堂语言还需再精炼,有些指示语出现了重复;另外,阅读课对于学生而言本就是难点,在教学过程中还需调动学生学习的主动性;最后,在教学过程中我还应适当增加小组间的竞争机制,用来调动学生学习的积极性。在今后的教学中,我会深刻反思不足,不断完善自己,改变教学方法和进行创造性的教学活动来建构和谐的师生关系,促进学生对英语学习的积极性,让学生真正成为课堂的主人。
