Because of the global warming, the ice in the Arctic is gradually melting, leaving the polar bears’ icy caves（洞穴） collapsed（坍塌） and destroyed. What’s worse, the warmer weather is killing some small animals which are regarded as their food. The destruction of habitat（栖息地） and reduction of food have put polar bears on the brink of extinction（濒临灭绝）.
