Nowadays, many children in rural areas are “left-behind” because their parents move to cities for work. They often live with their grandparents or relatives and may feel lonely and lack adult guidance.
Xiaoyao is a ninth-grade left-behind girl. Watch a video and discuss the issues Xiaoyao has faced.
What was Xiaoyao’s issue
Xiaoyao’s parents moved to another city for work and left her at home alone. She made friends with some friends outside school and her grades dropped a lot.
What’s the cause of her issue
She felt lonely and didn’t have enough adult guidance. Besides, her parents didn’t provide her enough care and attention.
