Price: 64 yuan for a soft seat
This railway line connects to the Qinghai-Tibet Railway and has an altitude of above
3,600 meters. It makes Tibet travel easier for travelers, especially those who want to see
Qomolangma, the highest mountain in the world.

When I was little, I was really little. But my dream was big. I dreamed of being a basketball
player. I tried out for the teams at school, but I was never given a chance.
As I got older, I did grow a little bigger, but not a lot bigger. On my 12th birthday, I decided to
try a new sport: running. I told Grandpa. “I’m going to be an athlete.”
“Dave.” Grandpa began gently, “if you can’t be big, you can do something big.”
I ran 12 miles on my 12th birthday. On my 13th birthday, I did it again, but I added an extra
mile. On my 14th birthday, I ran 14 miles. 15 on my 15th, 16 on my 16th, and you guessed it—17
miles on my 17th birthday.
All this running inspired (激发) another big dream. Someday, I’d run the Boston Marathon (波
士顿马拉松赛). I told Grandpa about my decision.
“But, Dave, you haven’t trained for the marathon. Are you sure you’re ready ” Grandpa asked.
But he still promised to walk over and cheer me on.
I ran fast that day. But I fell at Mile 18 and was driven to the hospital. Later that night, I called
Grandpa and told him I failed.
“No,” he said calmly, “you didn’t fail. You discovered something.”
“I did ” I asked.
“Yes, you discovered that big dreams don’t just come true. They take work. If you train and
work hard, I promise to wait for you next year and cheer you on.”
I trained every day, running miles and miles. Sadly, just two months into my training, Grandpa
died. He wouldn’t be waiting for my second Boston Marathon. I decided I’d run for him.
That day, I ran fast. “Keep going! You can do it!” His words filled my head as I forced my legs
to make each painful step. As I crossed the finish line, I threw my arms in the air and cried,
“Grandpa, we did it!”

There’s nothing quite like falling sound asleep after a full day of work. Like people, animals
need to rest after working hard. Some animals sleep in water. Others dig holes under the ground.
Some even sleep high in trees or under leaves. But they all find a way to rest.
Some animals in the sea sleep in strange ways. Fish sleep with their eyes open. They seem to
look ahead far into the sea while they rest. Sea otters sometimes sleep in beds of the plants that grow
in the sea. This keeps them from moving away. Parrot fish blow something from their mouths when
they are ready to sleep. Then a bubble (气泡) will be formed around them. The bubble protects them
from harm while they sleep.
Some animals sleep under the ground. Chipmunks (花栗鼠) sleep curled up (蜷缩) in a ball.
Their beds are made of leaves and grass. In winter, they sleep for two weeks and wake up to eat the
stored food. Then they go back to sleep for another two weeks before waking up again. Some desert
frogs dig underground holes during the hot, dry season. A frog may stay in its hole for months.
High above the ground, monkeys find leafy places in trees each evening before they sleep. The
tall trees help to keep monkeys safe during the night. Some insects even sleep under the leaf that will
be their next meal. A bee may climb down into a flower to rest. When it climbs out the next morning,
it is rested and ready for work.

Energy is the ability to do work. Solar energy (太阳能 ) comes from the Sun. There is also
energy that comes from wind and water.
But do you know that energy can come from people, too When you pedal (踩踏板) a bike, you

away. This energy can also be stored (存储) and used later.
People use bicycle-powered energy to run small devices (设备) such as small televisions and
fans. They often use less than 100 watts (瓦特 ) per hour. However, it would be a mistake to use
pedal power to run a fridge. This large machine often uses more than 700 watts per hour. The
electricity for these machines comes from power lines overhead or underground.
Pedal power can be seen in schools, gyms, and homes. What a fun way to provide electricity!

The summer vacation is coming. Here are my plans for it.
First of all, I plan to review what I have learned at school to make great progress. At the same time, taking up
a new hobby like singing can relax myself from the pressure. What’s more, I’m going to have a healthy eating
habit. And it’s necessary to do more exercise, such as running and swimming. During the vacation, l also need to
develop a better sleeping habit. Finally, I’ll try my best to get on well with our parents. And I can do something
interesting with them, like doing housework or traveling with them.

（二）短文要点认定及计分参考标准
1. 自我提升（阐述清楚，表达正确并有恰当的补充，每小点计 3分，共 6分）；
2. 健康生活（阐述清楚，表达正确并有恰当的补充，每小点计 3分，共 9分）；
3. 和谐家庭（阐述清楚，表达正确并有恰当的补充，每小点计 3分，共 6分）；
4. 恰当的结尾（阐述清楚，表达正确，计 4 分）。
（三）扣分参考依据
1. 其表达未能达成正确句意的，不给分。如：写出了主语或谓语等关键词，但未能达成符合要点要求、
意义正确的句子。
2. 句子结构完整，但关键点出现错误或漏掉部分关键词，扣半个要点分。如：主谓一致错误，或关键词
拼写错误，或谓语动词时态、语态错误等。
3. 使用铅笔答题，或答题中使用了涂改液或不干胶条，一律不给分。
4. 多次出现非关键性单词拼写错误或其它同类错误，原则上每四处扣 1分。
5. 超出规定答题区域的内容不给分。
6. 词数不足 80或超过 120，在总分中扣 2分。
7. 书写较差、卷面不整洁，但基本不影响阅卷的，酌情从总分中扣 1—2分。
