Well, I went to an English corner once, and there were some people who didn’t speak English very well. Buty they were happy to try, and other people, including some English speakers from the UK and the US, were happy to talk to them.

achieve: If you achieve a particular aim or effect, you succeed in doing it or causing it to happen, usually after a lot of effort. 实现
E.g.
There are many who will work hard to achieve these goals.

Teamwork is required in order to achieve these aims.
要达到这些目标需要齐心协力。
辨析:achieve 与come true
achieve 意为“成功; 实现”, 其主语必须是人, 其后可以接宾语。 achieve one’s dream
=one’s dream comes true
=make one’s dream come true
come true 意为“完成; 实现”, 其主语是事物, 其后通常不接宾语。
2. ... although my spoken English is not that good.
that: If something is not that bad, funny, or expensive for example, it is not as bad, funny, or expensive as it might be or as has been suggested. 那么,那样(that在这里是副词)
E.g.
Don’t worry. The situation is not that bad.
别着急，情况没那么糟。
Not even Gary, he said, was that stupid.
他说，就是加里也没那么笨。
3. You mean those clubs where people go to practise their English
You mean 表示“你是说……”, 常用在口语中，用于核实你是否听懂了某人所说的话或对事实进行澄清。

You mean we’re supposed to tell you if we want to leave early

动词 mean 在口语中还有很多其他的用法，请看下面的句子。
