English-speaking: “说英语的；英语为母语的；使用英语的”。由English 和speaking两个词组成，这是英语中一种常见的形容词构词形式，即：由名词和动词的-ing形式组合而成
例：grass-eating animals an apple-picking trip

1）on the one hand, on the other hand一方面……，另一方面……常用于列举原因、情况等，说明一个事物的两个方面。

2）population 人口 The population of China is over 1.4 billion, one third of the population are the old.
3）three quarters 意为“四分之三”。分数的表达法：分子用基数词，分母用序数词，当分子大于1时， 序数词后加s. 如:三分之二two thirds三分之一one third
注意：分数修饰名词在句子中作主语时，若该名词为可数名词单数或不可数名词，则谓语动词用单数形式；若该名词为可数名词复数，则谓语动词用复数形式。

4.Maybe you fear that you won't be able to find anything good to eat when you travel.可能你害怕当你旅游的时候你将不能找到好吃的东西。
fear 在此处作及物动词，意为“害怕；惧怕”，相当于be afraid of。常用搭配：fear to do sth， fear +that从句。
例：Children usually fear to go out alone at night. He fears that he may lose his job, so he works hard every day.
fear 还可作名词，意为“害怕；惧怕” 。be in fear of “害怕……；担心……”。 We are in fear of tigers.
