Share with a partner what you know about the people and their achievements.
Zhong Nanshan is one of the greatest doctors in China. He discovered the SARS coronavirus back in 2003 and played an important role in the country’s fight against the epidemic as a leading scientist. What’s more, he is seen as one of the most respectable and trusted figures during China's battle against COVID-19.
Florence Nightingale is best known for her pioneering work in the field of nursing.
Tu Youyou discovered artemisinin, which is a curcial new treatment for malaria. She received the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
Alexander Fleming was a Scottish bacteriologist (细菌学家) and Nobel Prize winner, best known for his discovery of penicillin (青霉素) . He is one of the most influential people of the 20th century.
Wu Mengchao was a Chinese surgeon and a medical scientist who specialized in hepatobiliary(肝胆的) surgery. He was also known as the "Father of Chinese Hepatobiliary Surgery".中国肝胆外科之父
