[What]
The topic of this passage is the storm and it belongs to “humanity and nature”. It talks about what the weather like when the storm came, what Ben’s family did during the whole process and how the people helped to clean up the neighborhood after the storm. The storm took place in Alabama, Ben’s family did some preparations in order to protect themselves before the storm. When the storm came, they stayed in the house but couldn’t enjoy themselves. In the end, the storm disappeared, and people helped each other to clean up the neighborhood.
[Why]
By writing this story, the writer is aimed to show that people even got closer together after the storm. And it is the help among people that help them “weather the storm” in times of difficulties.
[How]
This passage is written in the order of time. The structure is clear and it can be divided into the parts according to the development of the storm, before the storm, during the storm and after the storm.
