Lesson 22　The Giant (I)
教学目标
通过本课的学习,学生能够:
1.获取和梳理巨人因驱赶在花园里玩耍的小孩而导致了花园的变化,形成信息结构图。(学习理解)
2.基于信息结构图的内容,结合自己对童话故事的理解,转述本课的内容。(应用实践)
3.运用本课所学词汇和句型,结合自己对本课的理解,续写本课童话。(迁移创新)
语篇研读
What: 本课语篇是童话故事《巨人的花园》的第一部分,主要讲述了巨人驱赶在他花园里玩耍的孩子们,花园因此不再有春天,巨人感到非常困惑。
Why: 本课讲述巨人赶走花园里玩耍的孩子而导致花园里不再有春天的童话故事,向我们展示了如何按时间的变化讲述一个童话故事。
How: 语篇按时间顺序展开。文章先描述了每个下午孩子都要去巨人的花园快乐地玩耍的场景。然而,有一天巨人生气地把正在玩耍的孩子们赶走,随着春天再来的时候,花园里仍是冰雪一片,巨人对此感到非常困惑。
教学过程
设计理念:以《义务教育英语课程标准(2022年版)》核心素养为导向,以单元主题为引领,基于语篇的育人理念,体现《义务教育英语课程标准(2022年版)》“学思用创”的英语学习活动观和“教—学—评”一体化设计理念。

Activity 2: Fast reading 速读,获取文章信息 Read the lesson and number the scenes in the correct order.(见PPT) 观察学生的答题情况,了解学生对文章的初步理解程度
设计意图 快速阅读课文,初步了解课文内容,让学生对文章有一个整体的认知【学习理解】
Activity 3: Careful reading 细节阅读,让学生对文本内容进行深度解析 1. Read Paragraph 1 and answer the questions. (1) When was the fairy tale happen (2) Where would the children play in after school 2. Read Paragraph 2 and answer the questions. (1) Who appeared when the children were playing in the garden (2) How were the children 3. Read Paragraphs 3-4 and answer the questions. (1) What did the giant do the next day (2) When spring came, what was the garden like 4. Read Paragraphs 5-6 and answer the question. What did the giant hear when he was lying awake in his bed 观察学生是否能准确获取并理解文章的细节,能否完成相关任务,同时要培养学生的语言应用能力

Activity 4: Retell 复述课文 Fill in the blanks. Then retell the text.(见PPT) 观察学生能否完整、顺利地进行语言输出,给予学生适当的点拨
设计意图 复述文本内容,让学生学会运用本课词汇和句型,并加深对文章的理解,完成知识的系统化巩固【应用实践】
Activity 5: Language points and summary 通过知识点的学习帮助学生解决后续学习中的问题 1. one’s upon a time 2. loud的用法 3. no longer 4. must的用法 5. once upon a time 6. be filled with 7. run away 8. be covered with 观察学生是否能够理解、掌握重要知识点,是否能够对课文中的重点短语进行翻译
设计意图 对这些短语的学习和对本课重要知识点的分析讲解,不仅能够使学生更好地理解本课内容,也帮助学生扩大了词汇量【学习理解】
Activity 6: Work in groups 小组合作 Work in groups. Discuss what the giant see and what will happen next. Then write it down. 观察学生小组讨论和完成任务的情况,倾听学生的展示并根据实际情况给出必要的指导和反馈
设计意图 小组合作,让学生对故事进行续写。一方面可以锻炼学生的想象力和思维能力,另一方面还可以加深对课文的理解,并能够灵活运用本课所学的表达【迁移创新】
Activity 7: Practice 通过练习巩固用法 Single choice.(见PPT) 观察学生是否能完成练习任务,根据学生的情况给出必要的指导和反馈
