Lesson 29　DNA — The Story of You
教学目标
通过本课的学习,学生能够:
1.获取和梳理文中关于DNA的介绍,形成信息结构图。(学习理解)
2.基于信息结构图的内容,结合自己对DNA的理解,转述本课的内容。(应用实践)
3.运用本课所学词汇和句型,结合自己对DNA的了解,谈谈对改变食物DNA的看法。(迁移创新)
语篇研读
What: 本课语篇是说明文,主要介绍了DNA的作用、特点以及对人类的影响。
Why: 文章通过介绍DNA,向我们展示了如何科学地介绍某种事物,让我们对DNA有了进一步的了解。
How: 语篇由浅入深,先介绍了DNA是什么,它有什么特点,后介绍了DNA的奇异之处,包括它的独特性与共性、改造后对人类的影响以及从DNA中能获得什么。
教学过程
设计理念:以《义务教育英语课程标准(2022年版)》核心素养为导向,以单元主题为引领,基于语篇的育人理念,体现《义务教育英语课程标准(2022年版)》“学思用创”的英语学习活动观和“教—学—评”一体化设计理念。

Activity 2: Pre-reading 预测本课内容 Read the title and look at the picture in the book. What do you know about DNA (见PPT) 观察学生对DNA的了解情况,适时调整后面的教学内容
设计意图 引导学生对DNA进行思考,促进学生对DNA的了解,为后面的阅读做好铺垫【学习理解】
Activity 3: Careful reading 细节阅读,让学生对文本内容进行深度解析 1. Read the first part of the passage and answer the questions.(见PPT) 2.Read the second part of the passage and answer the questions.(见PPT) 观察学生是否能准确获取并理解文章的细节,能否完成相关任务,同时要培养学生的语言应用能力
设计意图 细读课文,让学生进一步理解并梳理课文内容,对DNA有更加深入的了解【学习理解】
Activity 4: Retell 复述课文 Read the mind map. Then retell the text.(见PPT) 观察学生能否完整、顺利地进行语言输出,给予学生适当的点拨
设计意图 复述文本内容,让学生学会运用本课词汇和句型,并加深对文章的理解,完成知识的系统化巩固【应用实践】
Activity 5: Language points and summary 通过知识点的学习,帮助学生解决后续学习中的问题 1. in general 2. put… together… 3. far等词用于比较级表示程度 4. 辨析except、except for、besides与but 5. the same… as… 6. not only… but also… 7. be related to/with 8. billions of 观察学生是否能够理解、掌握重要知识点,是否能够对课文中的重点短语进行翻译
设计意图 通过语言点的分析讲解以及找出课本中的重点短语,帮助学生掌握重点词汇的用法,更好地理解课文内容,并为后面的语言活动打下基础,积累词汇量【学习理解】
Activity 6: Work in groups 小组合作 Is it a good idea to change the DNA of the food we eat Some people say doing this makes our food better. Others think it’s too dangerous. Search the Internet for information and write down your ideas. 观察学生小组讨论和完成任务的情况,倾听学生的展示并根据实际情况给出必要的指导和反馈
设计意图 小组合作,让学生讨论对转基因食物的看法。一方面可以锻炼学生的思维能力,另一方面还可以加深对课文的理解,并能够灵活运用本课所学进行表达【迁移创新】
Activity 7: Practice 通过练习巩固用法 Complete the sentences, one word in each blank.(见PPT) 观察学生是否能完成练习任务,根据学生情况给出必要的指导和反馈
