One day we were waiting outside one of the London parks when a black dirty cab drove up beside ours. The horse was brown, with bones that showed through her coat. Do you ever get the feeling that you’re being watched Well, you might be right.
According to a study published in Nature on June 23 th, astronomers have found that 1,715 stars have had a direct view of Earth since humans have been here.
In order to do this, scientists used a method that looked for life on other planets. But instead, they changed the method so it could try to decide what places could see us.
The team looked at 331,312 stars within 326 light-years of Earth. Out of all those stars, only 1,715 of them could see Earth within the last 5,000 years, with an extra 319 stars that will be able to see us in the next 5,000 years.
“When I look up at the sky, it looks a little bit friendlier because it’s like, maybe someone is waving,” said Lisa Kaltenegger, director of the Carl Sagan Institute at Cornell University, US, and the study’s lead writer.
If a planet circling around one of those 1,715 stars is home to advanced (高级的) life, they could easily see that there is life here because of the oxygen on Earth. If that didn’t give it away, then the radio waves we have sent out into space would also be an indicator (标志). In fact, human-made radio waves have already travelled through 75 of the closest stars on Kaltenegger’s list.
Why haven’t we heard from anyone yet, then It takes a long time for messages to travel between star systems. By the time a message could be received, that advanced civilization (文明) would probably not exist any more.
Alan Boss, a scientist at the Carnegie Institution for Science in the US who wasn’t part of the study, wrote in an email that this long time would limit the chances for different life to exchange “emails and TikTok videos. ”

When it was last exhibited in 2015, visitors stood in long lines until 3 a. m. to have a look. The museum ended up preparing fast food to serve the hungry visitors. “I don’t want that scenario to happen again”, Shan said, “Our operation can be done in a more scientific way.”
The new system will also make use of the closed-cameras that are set up all over the Palace Museum to safeguard the museum’s precious relics. One day we were waiting outside one of the London parks when a black dirty cab drove up beside ours. The horse was brown with bones that showed through her coat. According to a study published in Nature on June 23 th, astronomers have found that 1,715 stars have had a direct view of Earth since humans have been here.
In order to do this, scientists used a method that looked for life on other planets. But instead, they changed the method so it could try to decide what places could see us.
The team looked at 331,312 stars within 326 light-years of Earth. Out of all those stars, only 1,715 of them could see Earth within the last 5,000 years, with an extra 319 stars that will be able to see us in the next 5,000 years.
“When I look up at the sky, it looks a little bit friendlier because it’s like, maybe someone is waving,” said Lisa Kaltenegger, director of the Carl Sagan Institute at Cornell University, US, and the study’s lead writer.
If a planet circling around one of those 1,715 stars is home to advanced (高级的) life, they could easily see that there is life here because of the oxygen on Earth. If that didn’t give it away, then the radio waves we have sent out into space would also be an indicator (标志). In fact, human-made radio waves have already travelled through 75 of the closest stars on Kaltenegger’s list.

When visitors to the Palace Museum feel a need to sit down for a cup of tea or find a bathroom without a long line, they soon will be able to turn to their smart phones for the information they need.
This modern solution comes thanks to an agreement signed on Friday by the museum and Huawei Co., the telecommunication giant, to build a “smart network” using 5G technology. Under the agreement, 5G Wi-Fi signals will cover the Palace Museum, China’s royal palace from 1420 to 1911.
“It’s important to always stay close to the latest technology to better serve the public,” said Shan Jixiang, former director of the Palace Museum. Shan said there is still much room for improvement in the handling of a huge number of cultural relics (文物), such as when the priceless painting “Along the River During the Qingming Festiva!” is exhibited again in the future. When it was last exhibited in 2015, visitors stood in long lines until 3 a. m. to have a look. The museum ended up preparing fast food to serve the hungry visitors. “I don’t want that scenario to happen again”, Shan said, “Our operation can be done in a more scientific way.”
The new system will also make use of the closed-cameras that are set up all over the Palace Museum to safeguard the museum’s precious relics. More than 1.86 million of them are housed at the museum, which recorded nearly 20 million visits from the public last year. “How can we make sure no single visitor who might have evil ideas steals these treasures ” Shan said. “After adopting the Internet of Things, we can immediately find out any motion involving the relics to prevent such thefts.”
The 5G network also will be used to improve remote meetings through webcams, which will discuss with scholars to find out the best answers for repair and store issues together.
