教学背景
一、文本解读 1.[What]主题意义和主要内容 本课的主题是保护地球，这个主题既属于人与自然，也属于人与社会。现在，全球面临资源短缺、环境污染、生态破坏这三大危机，作为地球公民，师生有责任就“保护地球”这一话题进行探讨。本文由四个段落构成，分别介绍了地球上的淡水、石油和煤炭、树木和塑料等资源或材料的用途及使用情况，并根据它们各自的现状提出了保护地球的一些建议。 [Why]写作意图 本课的主旨在于让学生感受地球母亲面临的危机，并学会保护地球环境，同时鼓励学生积极参与到保护地球的活动中去。 3.[How]文体结构和语言修辞 本课是说明文的语篇结构，由4个小标题将文本分成4段，主题明确，结构清晰。每段文本中都重复出现了句型We use … to … 来表达用某物来干什么, We should / should not ….表达应该或不应该做的事。这两个主要句型都在之前的学习中有涉及，难度不大。 二、学情分析 1.学生已有知识水平 学生通过学习Unit5 Signs 和Unit6 Keep our city clean 已经对一些公共场所的文明行为习惯及保护城市环境的知识有一定的了解，对于应该做什么或不应该做什么有了一定的辨别能力。顺着文明行为、生态环境的这一主线进入本单元的保护地球环境的主题对于学生来说并不突兀，是一个知识的升华与拓展。由于这些话题比较贴近现实生活，因此学生在理解和接受上存在的难度不是很大。教师在教学时除了对语言知识的训练之外，通过让学生进行综合的汇报活动，让学生能形成保护地球从我做起的意识。 2学生已有背景知识 对于本单元的话题，孩子有着丰富的生活体验和知识储备，同时已经积累了一定的相关知识。 学生可能存在学习难点 本课词汇、句型以及语篇内容的理解上并不困难。学生在进行小组合作学习时，可能潜能生会有一些困难，在最后的汇报环节，学生可能由于缺少词汇量而产生思维与表达脱节的情况。
教学目标
教学目标： 一、学习理解 1. 在情境中通过互动交流和阅读课文，学生能初步听懂、会说、会读单词protect, earth, save, useful, waste, reuse, energy, most, coal, oil, wood, cut down, plastic。 2. 通过快读，引导学生关注说明文的文本特点，培养学生的阅读能力，帮助学生形成文本分析的能力。 3. 通过阅读文本、互动交流学习理解句型We use…to… We should… We shouldn’t… 4. 通过自读、跟读课文，学生能理解文章主要内容，了解地球上的淡水、石油和煤炭、树木和塑料等资源或材料的用途及使用情况。 二、应用实践 1. 通过对话交流，小组合作等形式，学生能较正确地谈论Why/How should we protect the Earth 2. 通过交流问答，学生能较正确地运用本课核心句型We use… to… We should… We shouldn’t…来谈论资源的使用情况，并根据它们各自的现状提出了保护地球的一些建议。 三、迁移创新 1. 通过让学生小组合作，选择本文一个或几个话题，并用一种喜欢的方式（对话、陈述或拟人等）汇报，培养学生用不同方式复述课文的能力。 2. 通过引导学生思考如何在生活中保护地球，引导学生从身边的小事做起，树立热爱地球、保护地球的意识。 3. 通过布置课后做海报的作业，培养学生的环保意识, 引发学生关注地球面临的危机并思考如何解决，进一步巩固所学内容。 教学重点： 1.学生能听懂、会说、会读单词protect, earth, save, useful, waste, reuse, energy, most, coal, oil, wood, cut down, plastic。 2.学生能听懂、会说、会读We use… to… We should… We shouldn’t… 教学难点： 1.引导学生需要联系生活实际，谈论生活中怎么保护地球。 2.如何充分发挥小组合作的作用，把学习的主动权交给学生，让学生在合作中完成知识的学习与运用。
