Sleep is important to us. Here are some studies about sleep.
Hard to get up in winter
A study found a “thermometer circuit (温度计回路)” in fruit flies. It sends a message of coldness from their bodies to their brains. Through this circuit, coldness ran stop parts at the flies’ brains from working, especially in the morning. These neurons (神经元) work to wake up the fruit flies. So it’s hard for fruit flies to wake up in the cold winter. Researchers said this might happen to people, too.
Earworms (耳虫现象) happen while sleeping
Sometimes, songs get stuck in our heads while we’re awake. We call them earworms. They can happen during sleep as well. Even if we’re asleep, our brains still deal with music. This can cause problems for falling and staying asleep.
Socks help sleep
When we fall asleep, our body temperatures go down. The faster you can lower your body temperature, the faster you will fall asleep. Our bodies change temperature using blood vessels (血管) in our skin. If you wear socks, your feet are warm. Warm feet help widen blood vessels, which in turn lowers our temperature.
Sleep cycles (周期)
Sleep is not always the same during the whole night. Instead, over the course of the night, your total sleep is made up of several rounds of the sleep cycle. Not all sleep cycles are the same length, but on average (平均) they last about 90 minutes each. If you wake up during a cycle, you will feel tired in the morning. This makes it harder to get out of bed.
61.Fruit flies brains may be more active in summer than in winter.
62.If someone has trouble falling asleep, he can try listening to music before going to bed.

If you want to become a fluent English speaker, maybe you should take some advice. There are four basic (基础的) skills in learning English. They are reading, listening, speaking, and writing. The most important thing you must remember is that if you want to improve your speaking and writing skills, you should first learn the skills of reading and listening.
Read as much as you can. But your reading must be active. It means that you must think about the meaning
of the sentence, the meaning of the strange words and so on. There is no need for you to care too much about grammar or try to understand all the strange words you come across. It’s enough if you can recognize (识别) the words when you see them next time. It would be better to prepare a notebook for yourself so you can write down the important words or sentences in it.
As for listening, there are two choices. Besides reading, you can listen every day for about 30 minutes. You can only care about your reading and become skillful at your reading, then you can catch up on your listening. Since you have lots of inputs (输入) in your mind, you can easily guess what the speaker is going to say. This never means that you should not practice listening. For listening, you can listen to cartoons or some movies that are specially made for children. Their languages are easy to understand. Or if you are good at listening, you can listen to VOA or BBC programs every day. Again the thing to remember is being active in listening and you’d better take some notes.
If you follow these pieces of advice, your speaking and reading will improve quickly, and you can be a fluent English speaker one day.
How to Become a Fluent English Speaker
Four skills Reading, listening, speaking and writing are four basic skills of learning English. Reading and listening are 106 of the four skills.
Read a lot ◆ Don’t 107 to grammar. ◆ Whenever you come across a new word, you can guess from its context (语境).
Listen often ◆ 108 your reading 3 your listening. When you have lots of inputs, you can begin to do some simple listening. ◆ You can listen to VOA or BBC every day. ◆ 109 is also good for listening.

Since then, I have tried to speak English in public many times and learned a lot. My classmates also helped me a lot, so I learned the important of working together. Now I am more and more confident. Even though I am sad that junior high will be over, I become happier and healthier to have new experiences in senior high school. I’ve made up my mind to improve the ability of study, and develop interest in voluntary activities.
