My neighbours are kind and helpful. Some of them are volunteers. They have different skills and often help us with all kinds of problems.
Usually there is a “helping hands” meeting at the weekend. People go there when they need help with their puter engineers are popular. They help people check their computers. You can also find someone to fix things like broken bicycles. Students can get help with their homework. There are some college students among the volunteers, and they are always ready to help.
We are lucky to live in a neighbourhood like that. People here are like a big family.

My dream home is at the foot of a hill. It has three floors. There is a football field behind my house and a swimming pool beside it.
There is a kitchen and a home cinema on the ground floor. The kitchen is very clean. There is always more than enough food there. The cinema has a large TV. I would like to invite my friends to watch films with me at the weekend.
On the first floor, there are six bedrooms. Each room has a new computer and all the beds are comfortable. My friends like to come and stay here.
There are two large rooms on the second floor. My friends and I have parties there. It is great fun!

There are lots of things to do in Sunshine Town. The air is fresh here. You can see many trees, lakes and green hills. There is also a beautiful park in the town centre. Local people like jogging in the park in the morning.
Beijing duck is very famous. Would you like to try some There are many Chinese restaurants here. If you do not like Chinese food, there are some Western restaurants too.
Why not visit our local theatre and enjoy Beijing opera If you want to learn more about Chinese art, don’t miss the opera shows there.

On 10 May, Lin Tao was at home alone. Suddenly, he heard someone shouting “Fire! Fire! Help!’ He run outside and saw a lot of smoke from next door. He went in and found his neighbour, the 79-year-old Mrs Sun, in the kitchen. Her left leg was badly hurt and she could not get out.
Lin Tao quickly ran to Mrs Sun’s bathroom. He poured water over his clothes to protect himself. Then he rushed into the kitchen. There was heavy smoke and the fire was very hot. He put a wet blanket over Mrs Sun and helped her out. Later some firemen came and put out the fire.
The fire burnt Lin Tao's arms, neck and face. He was in hospital for two weeks. Many people visited him and gave him flowers and presents. “What brave you are!” they said. Were you afraid at that moment ”

Thank you for your help. I know more about animals now. Some animals are really interesting.
The giraffe has a very long neck, but I was surprised to know that there are only seven bones in it. It is also amazing that a snake eats little or nothing in cold winter. Camels live in very dry places, and it is interesting that they can live without water for a long time. I also know that we need to keep our house clean --- ants can smell things well.
Now I am not afraid of animals any more. I would like to learn more about them.

Kites have a long history in China. The Chinese began to make kites over 2,000 years ago. In the Warring States period, a famous man, Mozi, made a bird out of wood. That was the first kite in history. His student Lu Ban used bamboo to make kites. In the Eastern Han dynasty, CaiLun found a new way to make paper, and then people began to use paper to make kits. In the 13th century, an Italian man called Marco Polo visited China. He told people in the West all about kites. In the Ming and Qing dynasties, kite flying became a very popular outdoor activity. Weifang, a city in Shandong Province, has become famous for making kites from then on.

Halloween is on October 31. People celebrate it in many ways. Children wear special costumes and masks on Halloween. Many children play a game called “trick or treat”. They knock on their neighbours’ doors and shout “trick or treat”. Their neighbours usually give them some candy as a “treat”. If the children do not get any candy, they can play a trick on their neighbours.
Some people also make lanterns out of big orange pumpkins. They cut out the eyes, the nose and the sharp teeth. They put candles in them so the light shines through the eyes, the nose and the teeth.

My ideal school starts at 8 a.m. and finishes at 3 p.m. I love sports and computers, so we have PE and computer lessons every day. The classes are quite small. There are about 20 students in each class.
There is a big dining hall. There we can eat and chat with our friends. There is a park on one side of our school and a shopping mall on the other. We have a big library. We also have a tennis court and a swimming pool.
There are lots of clubs and after-school activities. Every month, we go on a school trip to a museum or a theatre.

Daniel is a clever boy. He learns things quickly. He always thinks carefully when he works. He plans everything well.
Daniel is really kind. Last week, a five-year-old boy lost his way and was crying in the street. Daniel saw him and took him to the police station. He stayed with the boy and played with him for two hours before the boy's parents came.

All around the world, people drink tea. But tea does not mean the same thing to everyone. In different countries people have very different ideas about drinking tea.
In China people like to have tea together with their friends. They drink tea at any time of the day. They put only tea leaves in their cups. They prefer tea with nothing in it.
Tea is also popular in Japan. People have tea every day. But the way they drink it is different from that in China.
In the USA people drink tea at breakfast or after meals. They usually use tea bags to make their tea.
