1. 有些动词后面只能跟动词ing作宾语。常这样用的动词有:
avoid(避免) miss(错过) delay(延期) suggest(建议) finish(完成)practise(练习)enjoy(喜欢)imagine(想象)can't help(禁不住)admit(承认)deny(否定) envy(嫉妒)
escape(逃避) risk(冒险) forgive(原谅) stand(忍受) keep(保持) mind(介意)

2.有些动词后既可跟动词-ing形式作宾语,也可跟动词不定式作宾语。
Activity 2: -ing as object(动词ing形式作宾语)
A. 在like, love, hate, prefer等动词之后,用-ing或不定式意义上没有什么不同,只是侧重点有些不同,动词-ing通常表示习惯性、经常性的动作,-to do表示一次性、具体性的动作。
B. 在begin / start, continue之后,用动词-ing和不定式,意义无甚区别,尤其是当主语是人的时候。
C. 在动词forget忘记, remember记得, regret后悔之后,用动词-ing与不定式意义不同。动词ing表示已经发生的动作;不定式表示将要发生的动作。如:

D.有些动词,后接动词-ing形式作宾语,与用动词不定式作宾语,意义完全不同。

mean doing 意味着要做某事 mean to do 想要做某事
stop doing 停止做某事 stop to do 停下来(做别的事)
try doing 试着做某事 try to do 努力做某事
be used to doing 习惯于做某事 be used to do 被用来做某事

1. I once曾经 tried ________ (learn) French法语.
2. Let’s try ________ (knock敲) at the back door.

3.动词-ing形式用在动词need, want, require等后表示“需要”时, 用动词-ing形式的主动形式或者用不定式的被动式表示被动意义。如:
即:need/want/require doing= need/want/require to be done
The car requires __________________ (repair修理).
= The car requires____________________(repair).

★ 动词-ing形式作表语,说明主语的内容,指一般性、经常性的动作。主语和表语之间可以互换位置。如:

★ 一些表示状态、品质、情绪的动词-ing形式可作表语。这时系动词可以是be, become, get, look, seem, appear, sound, feel, keep 等。 如:
