Unit 2单词用法讲解
1. mean v. 意思是；打算
词汇拓展：meaningful adj. 有 意 义 的
meaning n. 意思
短语搭配：①mean to do sth. 表示有意图或打算做某事。
例如：I didn't mean to hurt your feelings.我不是故意要伤害你的感情。
They mean to help us in any way they can.他们打算尽力帮助我们。
②mean doing sth. 意味着...
例如：Sometimes love means taking a step back.有时候爱意味着退让一步。

对应词：wife n.妻子
3.bat n. 球棒；球拍
短语：ping-pong bat 乒乓球拍
play ping-pong 打乒乓球
play和球类连用，不加the
4.every day 每天
词汇拓展：everyday adj. 日常的，每天的
用法区别：every day是名词短语，通常在句子中用作状语
everyday是一个形容词，用来修饰名词
例句：She goes to the gym every day.（她每天都去健身房）
An everyday object like a pen can be invented with multiple uses.像笔这样的日常物品可以发明出多种用途。

拓展：spend，cost，take，pay表示“花费”
①spend一般表示花时间/钱做某事，人做主语
句型：sb. spend time/money on sth. /(in) doing sth.
例句：I spent three hours on this math problem.这道数学题花了我三小时。
②cost一般是表示某物或服务花了某人多少钱，主语通常是物或服务。
句型：sth. cost sb. money
例句：The book costs me fifty dollars.这本书花了我五十美元。
③take一般表示花时间做某事，主语可以是事、物或者形式主语it
句型：It takes sb. some time to do sth.
doing sth. takes sb. time
例句：It took me ten minutes to reach the station.我花了十分钟到车站。
④ pay一般表示支付钱买某物，主语一般式是人或团体
句型：sb. pay money for sth.
例句： I have to pay 1000 RMB for this course every month。我每个月要为这门课程支付1000人民币。
8. a lot of / lots of 大量；许多
注意：a lot of / lots of 后面可修饰不可数名词或者复数可数名词
例句: We have a lot of/lots of work to do today.我们今天有很多工作要做。
A lot of/Lots of people are at the beach today.今天有很多人在海滩。
9. really adv.非常；确实；真正地
10. activity n. 活动
词汇扩展：复数形式activities
短语：take part in activities 参加活动
11. chess n. 国际象棋
短语：Chinese chess 中国象棋
play chess下棋（不加the）
12. funny adj. 好笑的；奇怪的
13.laugh v. 笑；发笑 n. 笑声
短语：laugh at sb. 嘲笑某人
14.different adj. 不同的
短语：be different from... 不同于...

短语：play the violin拉小提琴
