第一节:写作(满分 15 分)
Last week, the Spring Sports Meeting was held in our school. And the running race I
participated in has made a profound impression on me.
As I raced around the track, I encountered a difficult moment when I felt my energy waning
and my legs starting to tire. Suddenly, I fell on the track. However, I got up at once and focused on
controlling my breathing and maintaining a steady rhythm. With each stride, I propelled myself
forward with determination. Finally, I managed to finish the race.
This race was a rewarding experience that taught me the power of perseverance and the
satisfaction of pushing myself beyond my limits. I am grateful for the opportunity to test my
endurance.
第二节:读后续写(满分 25分)
Willis got up the cliff as fast as he could. Worried and uneasy, he checked a rope on the ground,
which was too short, but would hold some weight. He kept searching among the sheep. Luckily
for him, the head sheep had a good length of nylon rope around its neck. He quickly collected
them and climbed down back. “Give me the laces out of your sneakers,” Willis said to Tanya as
he hurried to tie the ropes together, with a plastic bottle fastened to one end of the rope with a
shoelace.
Willis swung the rope end with the bottle above his head and let it go. “Jack! Grab it!” Jack let
go of the rock and slipped into the water. Five strokes and he was near the bottle. Willis gently
pulled on the rope, feeling his brother’s weight on its end. Together Tanya and Willis pulled the
rope. Willis hoped the rope would hold, while they pulled Jack in until he finally struggled to his
1
feet ashore. Jack hugged his brother and sister tightly. They all smiled with relief. Now his brother
was safe.

leave her baby. So, the villagers had to stand far away to watch everything. (18) Then the
kind-hearted villagers tried their best to get the mother away for a while using bananas, in order to
remove some of the soil stopping her from getting the baby out. At last, the mother tightly
wrapped her trunk around the baby’s body and pulled him out. (19) Then the tired mother
and her baby happily walked side by side as they continued their journey. (20)

In the 1970s, a new supermarket selling LPs arrived in my home town of Hornsea, East
Yorkshire, and I began spending my pocket money on records. I was just 12, and fell immediately
in love with Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. I dreamed of playing that music myself.
I left school at 16 and managed to get into the Royal Academy of Arts. I continued to play
piano all my life, working as a concert pianist and a professional portrait painter. In my 30s, I
visited Thailand for a few months, where I met my wife. We married in 1996, and I’ve been in
Thailand ever since.
For my 50th birthday, my wife persuaded the manager of Elephants World to allow us to
bring a piano into the sanctuary(庇护所). These elephants have worked for humans all their life
and many are blind or disabled from being treated badly, so I wanted to make the effort to carry
something heavy myself.
When I started playing, it was hard to hear the piano above the sounds of nature and the
elephants eating grass. Elephants are almost always hungry – if they get the opportunity, they’ll
eat and they won’t stop. But as soon as I started playing, one elephant, who was blind, stopped
eating and listened. We realised that this elephant, trapped in a world of darkness, loved music.
3
From that day, there was never any concern about disturbing their peace, and that was the
beginning of it all. We occasionally film the performances and now have nearly 700,000 YouTube
subscribers.
I continue to play for these elephants that run free in the sanctuary, though I could be killed at
any moment. It seems to be the male elephants, the ones who are moody and dangerous, that listen
to the music the most. The music somehow calms them.
24. What caused the author’s passion for music
A. His dream of being a professional.
B. His experience of meeting his wife.
C. His fascination with Beethoven’s music.
D. His learning in the Royal Academy of Arts.
25. What can we infer about the author from paragraph 3
A. He was good at playing the piano.
B. He was not fond of blind elephants.
C. He got along well with the manager.
D. He was sympathetic to those elephants.
26. How do elephants react to the author’s music
A. They stop standing.
B. They become quiet.
C. They begin to run free.
D. They start performing.
27. What is the text mainly about
A.The author’s journey with his wife.
B. Challenges of playing music for elephants.
C.The author’s playing the piano for saved elephants.
D.The author’s unforgettable experiences in Thailand.

On a summer day in 2019, Raj Patel and his friend Sally Blake walked past a pool. It was
filled with smelly algae (水藻), making it hard for workers to clean up. So the two 17-year-old
students from Chicago decided to create a robot to deal with this problem. On Aug 19 , the 18th
Science and Environment Invention Award was announced. Patel and Blake’s invention of a water
surface cleaning robot received the Gold Award.
It took them about four years to finish the robot. The robot moves like a boat and can be
controlled from far away on the waterside. To collect garbage, the robot has two plates as “hands”.
Then a conveyor belt is used for sending the garbage to a basket. “There is also a heating sheet
under the belt to help dry the garbage and make it easy to deal with,” said Patel.
Compared to other robots of its kind, their robot is small, light and eco-friendly. “It has a
solar panel (太阳能电池板) set on top,” said Blake.
The journey to build their robot was full of difficulties. But they worked hard to deal with
these problems. One challenge was the balance of the boat. “It used to be heavy and easy to turn
over. On the advice of our teacher, we changed the top part from steel to alloy (合金) to make it
lighter,” said Patel.
4
As for their next step, they hope to make the robot work on its own. “We will continue to
learn programming skills to make our dreams come true,” said Blake.
28. What inspired the invention of the cleaning robot
A.The desire to win an award. B.The difficulty of cleaning smelly algae.
C.The passion for cleaning robots. D.The terrible situation of the pool.
29. What is paragraph 2 mainly about
A.The robot’s benefit.
B. The robot’s influence.
C. The robot’s development.
D. The robot’s working principle.
30. How is the cleaning robot different from other robots of its kind
A. It uses the boats. B. It owns a solar panel.
C. It can work on its own. D. It changes some metals.
31. In which section of a newspaper may this text appear
A.Environment. B. Economy. C.Society. D. Entertainment.

Japan’s first fully AI-created comic, Cyberpunk: Peach John, was released on March 9 by
Shinchosha, a major publishing house.
The comic is based on the futuristic imagination of the author, whose pen name is Rootport.
It describes how the Japanese folk tale hero Momotaro, who is said to have been born from a giant
peach, lives in a dystopian (反乌托邦的) future. All the fancy futuristic objects and creatures in
the book, however, were conceived and created by Midjourney along with other popular online
image-generation AI tools such as Stable Diffusion and DALL-E 2.
Unlike traditional manga (日本漫画) which are usually black-and-white and short in length,
Cyberpunk: Peach John comes in full color and spans more than 100 pages. A work of this scale
would normally take over a year to complete by hand. However, with AI creation, it took him a
surprisingly short period - only six weeks - to finish the whole work, Rootport told CNN.
Despite gaining widespread attention as the first fully AI-drawn manga in Japan, the work
has also raised some questions and panic as well. According to Gulf News and CNN, some people
are worried that AI technology will threaten jobs and copyright (版权) ownership in the nation’s
thriving comic book industry, as well as creativity and artistic value. One Twitter user described
the project as “an absolute shame to manga and mangaka (manga artists) everywhere.” Another
wrote: “Odd to publish a manga by AI when your country (has) some of the most talented artists in
existence.”
But Rootport has insisted that his comic book should be considered a work of art. “AI cannot
yet create a perfect work on its own. Human assistance is essential,” he told CNN.
32.What does the underlined word “conceived” in paragraph 2 mean
A. designed. B. introduced. C. changed. D. mentioned.
33.What do we know about the AI Creation manga
A. It has two colors. B. It gains little attention.
C. It takes less time to finish. D. It is praised by many people.
34. What does Rootport want to convey in the last paragraph
A. Human can not create a perfect work without AI.
B. AI technology can take the place of human beings.
5
C. Human’s favor is necessary to create a perfect AI work.
D. The comic book should be finished by AI dependently.
35. What is the suitable title of this passage
A. AI Comic Book Is Well Received in Japan
B. AI Comic Book Gains Widespread Attention
C. AI Comic Book Changes The Comic Industry
D. AI Brings Benefits and Concerns to Comic Industry

as little as 10 minutes of brisk walking can increase your mental alertness(警觉 ) and energy.
38 . You can often find a solution to a problem and a fresh new perspective from getting out of
your mind and into physical activity.
39
You can be a great partner or a great enemy for yourself. There is no one who can do more
damage to your self-belief than—you! Show sympathy to your “mistakes” and failings. See that
no one creates success without learnings along the way. Let go of what you may be blaming
yourself for, either in your professional life or personal. Forgive yourself, or you may stay stuck in
blame.
Build your team
40 . They will either make you feel more confident or less confident. You need people
who “get you”, and see your true potential. When the going gets tough, you may need to lean on
their belief in you and borrow it until your own has recovered and bounced back!
A. Stop the criticism
B. Promote inner peace
C. It can also improve your mood
D. Choose your companions carefully
E. Soon, you will have sold yourself to you
F. You need to feel a sense of belonging and community
G. However, we have the power to control what happens inside

they’re lonely and need someone to be there for them.
For some reason, eating with other people is a 50 . Modern society has 51 to the
point where most people eat with others and do almost every 52 together. If we need to get
lunch before a class, we’d rather ask around to see if someone will come with us. So many people
are always around someone else, and that may make people think we always need someone with
us to feel better about ourselves.
But that’s not true. We can enjoy being alone – not everyone needs to be constantly 53
by friends to be happy. And we shouldn’t be 54 to eat alone if that’s what we want to do. We
don’t have to do what everyone else does. So it’s 55 to realize seeing someone doing
something alone doesn’t mean they’re lonely.

Willis knew it was meaningless to argue with his older brother Jack. Their mother had packed
some sandwiches and a large plastic bottle full of juice and allowed them to go wandering along
the coast.
Jack was in charge (负责), Mother had said. Just because Jack was 15, two years older than
him, their mother thought Jack was smarter. But he wasn’t acting smart now. Even Tanya would
not be so silly, and she was only 8.
“It isn’t far,” Jack said, “I can do it easily.” They looked at the small island just off the beach.
Jack was talking about swimming around the island.
“But it’s a lot rougher (风浪很大的) once you get out of the bay.” Willis said, “You know
there are currents (水流) all along this coast.”
“Look, who’s in charge here ” Jack said.
“You are,” said Willis.
“Right. Now you and Tanya stay here while I swim around this island. It should only take a
short while.” They watched as Jack waded (趟水) into the water and set off.
Willis opened the juice, filled two plastic cups and passed one to Tanya. After a while, Tanya
said, “We’d better leave some sandwiches for Jack. He might be hungry when he gets back.”
“He’s been gone a long time.” Willis said, “Let’s see if he’s made it.” They walked down to
the other side of the bay.
“Look!” Tanya screamed as she pointed. Jack was there – holding onto a rock, halfway out of
the water.
Jack must have heard Tanya for he shouted, “Help! Help!”
“We’ve got to do something,” said Willis. “But what ... if only we had a rope.”
“The sheep!” Tanya said, pointing to the low cliff (悬崖) behind the bay. “The sheep we saw
when we were coming here. They were tied up with rope!”
