I often cycle around Australia and I am about to cycle the Nullarbor to raise money for multiple sclerosis (MS多发性硬化症). I have MS myself, but cycling is a pain-free activity for me. I feel quite relaxed after cycling. But a not-so-kind person stole all of my bikes when I was travelling.
The human kindness I have been shown since this happened has been nothing short of amazing. A kind lady bought a mountain bike for me to continue riding trails. A gentleman donated another bike to me to continue training on roads. It was almost impossible to find a bike in my size because the bike I had before was very short and required an extra-small frame (框架). My hometown got behind to raise some money. With the money, I bought a bike that was just the right size for me.
So far, people have offered me places to stay, welcomed me into their warm homes and made sure I have enough water when riding long distances (距离). They also put money in my hands in the street to help me reach my goal. The stolen bikes turn into an interview with ABC Radio and papers in Tasmania.
My experience is that people are mainly kind and beautiful. I could never doubt the fact that the world holds more good and kind people than unkind people.
That, in itself, is hope! It won’t be long now before I hit the road again and do my bit to give back kindness.

My Friend
Everyone needs friends. Everyone has many friends. But some of them are not true friends. Now I want to introduce a true friend of mine.
Her name is Lucy. She is sixteen years old. She is the same age as me. She has big eyes and long hair. She is outgoing but I am quiet. We both like reading. Because we think reading is a good way to improve our writing level. I remembered the final exam last term. I failed the English exam because I was too careless. I was so sad that I even lost confidence in learning English. Lucy came to my house every day to help me learn English and told me some jokes to make me happy.
This is my true friend—Lucy. She is always helpful. She always thinks about others. I hope our friendship will last forever.
