1. Mix them together. 把它们混合在一起。
mix此处用作及物动词，意为“混合”。mix...together“把……混合在一起”，mix up“混合在一起；弄乱”，mix...with...“把……和……混合”。
2. For example, mixing red apples, green pears, purple grapes and oranges together will make the salad look very colourful. 例如，把红色的苹果，绿色的梨，紫色的葡萄和橘子混合在一起，这样会使沙拉看起来非常鲜艳。
辨析：for example与such as
两者都意为“例如”，但用法上有区别。

③prepare to do sth. 准备做某事，相当于get ready to do sth.
④prepare for sth. 为某事做准备，相当于get ready for

辨析：stop doing sth.与stop to do sth.
stop doing sth “停止做某事” 表示停止正在做的事情
stop to do sth. “停下来去做某事” 表示停止正在做的事情而去做动词不定式

侧重于“安装”，有时用来指“修补”或“整理”东西

In a small Chinese town there lived a poor young man named Ma Liang. He loved painting. One night, an old man with a long beard visited Ma Liang in a dream. He gave Ma Liang a paintbrush.
"Use this magic paintbrush to help the poor,"he said,"but don't use it to help people who are rich and greedy (贪婪的) , or the skill will leave your fingers and you will never paint again. "
When Ma Liang woke up,he found the paintbrush lying on the table by his bed. He painted a butterfly and was surprised to see it fly off the page and out of the window.
Ma Liang ran out of his little house and started painting things for people. He painted a buffalo (水牛) to help a farmer. food for hungry people and clothes for people who were cold.
However,a rich man heard about the paintbrush and asked Ma Liang to paint some gold for him, but Ma Liang didn't agree.
"If you don't paint for me. I’ll cut your fingers off, the rich man said. "Then you will never paint again. "
So Ma Liang painted an island of gold in the middle of a blue sea. "How will I get there " asked the rich man.
Ma Liang painted a boat for the rich man,who got in it and went on his way towards the island, laughing.
But when the rich man was halfway there, Ma Liang painted a hole in the side of the boat. The boat sank into the water and nobody ever saw the rich man again.
