Last Sunday, our school held a calligraphy competition in the lecture hall. All the students took part in it actively.
Competitors were divided into three groups according to their grades. They were required to copy a text of 100 words in 20 minutes. All of them wrote very carefully. Then the judges looked through these texts with great patience and fairness, and gave results on site. After that, we displayed the calligraphy and awarded the winners. All the teachers and students praised them.

I made an important decision when I was in Junior 3. Before I made that decision, I was one of the boys who tried too hard to act as an adult. I didn’t know that only kids want to show themselves as adults. I didn’t listen to my parents and teachers, and my grades became poor. Then came the high school entrance exam.
At the turning point of my life, my Mom wanted to have a conversation with me. I wanted to turn it down, but when I looked at her eyes, I felt I couldn’t refuse. Life today is much easier than it was hundreds of years ago, but it has brought new problems. One of the biggest is pollution. Pollution comes in many ways. We see it, smell it, drink it and even hear it.
Men have been polluting the earth. Many years ago, the pollution was not so serious because there were not so many people. When the land was used up or the river was dirty in one place, men moved to another place.

Iceland is a northern European country with amazing natural beauty and oceans around. There are a number of volcanoes (火山). It has a short summer which lasts from June to August. The long winter starts from September and ends next May.
