教学过程
Step1 Warming up Watch a video about helping others and lead students to think about the problems: If you are in trouble , do you want someone to help you If your friends are in trouble, will you help him/her without thinking twice If a stranger is in trouble, will you help him/ her without thinking twice Step2 Reading Pre-reading Look at the picture and try to predict what the passage is about. Look at the title and tell whether the bus driver save the old man or not Have students think about it comes from a newspaper or a book Then tell students the feathers of news .(It is reporting something that happened very recently, and the whole story is very short) While-reading Read quckly and Match the main idea of each para. Paragraph 1 always contains the basic elements and important information of the news report.now lets find out where,who,what and when. Check the answers and read the para.1 together and explain the phrases in this part. Read para.2 and answer the following questions. Q1. Why was the old man lying on the road Q2. What did Mr. Wang decide to do Q3. Why was Mr. Wang surprised Q4. What did passengers do to help Mr. Wang Check the answers and read the para.2 together and explain the phrases in this part. Let’s read the last para.3 and find out what people think of the driver.How about you ,what’s your opinion about him . Check the answers and read the para.3 together and explain the phrases in this part. Post-reading 1、Scan the passage and check (√ ) the things that happened in the story. Wang Ping was the driver of bus No.26 at 9:00 a.m. yesterday. Bus No. 26 hit an old man on Zhonghua Road. The old man had a heart problem and needed to go to the hospital. The passengers on the bus did not want to go to the hospital, so only Wang Ping went with the woman and the old man. Some passengers helped to get the old man onto the bus. The old man got to the hospital in time. tell students how to help others in time correctly. Step3 Exercise Fill in the blanks according to the story.
