教学内容
教学重点: 1.Help students to learn more facts about Qomolangma. 2.Help students to master some reading strategies for the main ideas. 教学难点: 1. Retell a passage by using mind maps.
2. Discuss their “Qomolangma” in daily life and tell others how to overcome the “Qomolangma”.
教学过程
Step 1:Pre-reading Ask students about the information about Qomolangma. What’s the highest mountain in the world How high is it Where is it Do you know its specific location Prediction: What will the article talk about A reading tip: Look at the title and picture, and predict what you will read about. (设计意图:考查学生对“珠穆朗玛峰”信息的了解程度,为后面的阅读做好准备; 引导学生通过标题和图片预测短文大意,提高阅读技巧。) Step 2:While-reading Skimming: Read the passage and match each paragraph with the main ideas. A reading tip: The topic sentence tells us the main purpose of the paragraph. It's usually the first or the last sentence. 2.Scanning: 1. Read Para.1 to finish the mind map: the facts and dangers. 2.Watch a video clip in the movie 《攀登者》to experience the dangers of Qomolangma. (第一二段过渡语:Although it is dangerous to climb, there are still many climbers who have reached the top. Let’s read Para.2 to know who and when.) 3. Read Para.2 to finish the chart: Achievements of climbers. (第二三段过渡语:Some people asked online: Why do people climb mountains even though it’s dangerous Can climbing a mountain feed a few hundred million hungry people What’s your opinion about it Maybe we can find the answer in Para. 3.) 4. Read Para.3 and answer two questions. 5.Watch a video clip in 《攀登者》 to understand it deeply: Why must we reach the top of Qomolangma (设计意图:1.先整体理解,再细节理解,多种阅读技巧的指导训练提高学生的阅读能力。另外,通过网上有争议的话题:攀登珠穆朗玛峰有意义吗?登山能解决几亿人的吃饭问题吗? 培养学生的批判性思维) Step 3:Post-reading 1. Retell the whole passage by using the mind map. 2. Think: What's the most important thing you can learn from the passage What other spirits can we learn from climbers 3. Solve your problem: 1.What’s your “Qomolangma” (big difficulties) in your life After reading this passage, how will you overcome(克服) these difficulties 4.Moral education: Watch a video clip 《每日一习话》 to know that we should never give up trying to achieve our dreams. (设计意图: 1.让学生根据提示词复述文章,加深学生对文章的理解和积累,锻炼学生的口语表达能力;2.让学生联系实际生活,说出自己在生活中面临的“珠穆朗玛峰”以及如何做去克服这座“大山”。 让所学知识更好地运用到生活中,更好地服务于生活,符合《新课程标准》“用英语做事情”的理念。并为下节课的写作打基础;3.通过观看《每日一习话》进行德育渗透,培养学生坚持梦想、挑战自我的不服输精神。) Step 4:Homework You must do: Write a short passage: The “Qomolangma” in my life is that... In order to overcome it, I will... You can do: Tell us a story about a great person who challenges himself/herself. You can search for more information online. (设计意图: 分层作业的布置有利于满足学生的求知欲,使不同程度的学生分别能体验到成功的喜悦;提高学生的写作和语言表达的准确度,并为下节课的写作课作铺垫。) 附本节课的课堂流程: 读前 根据标题和图片预测文章大意: 读中 1.略读:匹配每段大意(找出每段主题句是关键); 2.扫读:完成第一段的思维导图; 完成第二段的表格; 回答第三段的问题(找出关键词和短语)。 读后 1.复述短文(借助思维导图); 2.思考:为什么作者在标题中用了问号? 3.讨论:你从本文中学到了什么?从攀登者身上我们还能学到其它的哪些精神? 4.解决实际问题:你生活中的“珠穆朗玛峰”是什么?你将要如何克服它? 5.情感渗透:永不放弃,敢于追梦。
