一、单元整体概览
（一）单元主题
本单元学习的主题是Activities in community，涉及“人与自我”和“人与社会”两大主题范畴，通过不同的场景，学习描述某人正在做某事。本模块紧紧围绕谈论社区中人物的活动这一主线，学习运用句型“What are they doing They’re + doing... What’s the ... doing It’s ...”询问和回答正在发生的事情。通过学习，引导学生关注自己身边的人正在做的事情，培养学生学习英语的热情，树立学好英语的信心；学习过程中，能够明白自己的身份，热爱自己的国家和文化，关注身边的社区，关心他人。
课标分析
根据新课标，要求学生能在教师的引导和启发下，理解简答的语言材料，领悟其基本意义，运用所学语言与他人交流，传递信息，叙述事件，实现基本的沟通与交流。能根据获取的信息，提出自己的想法，有条理地表达自己的观点，学会换位思考，尝试多角度认识世界。能在教师的引导和启发下，基本认识到英语学习的重要性，兴趣逐渐增强。四年级的学生在教师的引导下，对英语学习有持续的兴趣和爱好。能用简单的英语互致问候、交换有关个人、家庭和朋友的简单信息。能根据所学内容表演小对话或歌谣。能在图片的帮助下听懂、读懂并讲述简单的故事。能根据图片或提示写简单的句子。在学习中乐于参与、积极合作、主动请教。乐于了解异国文化、习俗。
1.主题：本模块紧紧围绕谈论社区中人物的活动这一主线，属于“人与自我”和“人与社会”两大主题范畴。
2.语篇：本模块第一单元课文属于日常简单对话，学习内容是Daming和Amy在公交车上的所见所闻：他们看到了在公园打太极拳的人们；在湖上划龙舟的人们；在树下下棋的人们；以及在车上喝豆浆的女孩们。
第二单元课文也属于日常简单对话，学习内容是Amy和Daming在马戏团的所见所闻：他们看到了画画的大象；跳圈的老虎；唱歌的鹦鹉和跳舞的小马。
（三）学情分析
四年级的学生通过一年半的英语学习，有一定的英语语言基础，对英语保持有较高的学习热情。在本册 Module2 中，学生已学习了用 be doing 结构描述某人正在做某事的语言知识。本单元内容将在此基础上加入现在进行时的特殊疑问句，有了上一模块对进行时结构的学习，学生将会在语境中理解如何询问正在发生的行为，教师可同时重点帮助学生巩固现在分词的构成规则。
二、单元内容分析
本模块内容是谈论正在发生的事情，设计了两个语篇，包括U1 What are they doing 和U2 What’s the elephant doing
语篇一属于日常简单对话，学习内容是Daming和Amy在公交车上的所见所闻：他们看到了在公园打太极拳的人们；在湖上划龙舟的人们；在树下下棋的人们；以及在车上喝豆浆的女孩们。
语篇二也属于日常简单对话，学习内容是Amy和Daming在马戏团的所见所闻：他们看到了画画的大象；跳圈的老虎；唱歌的鹦鹉和跳舞的小马。

设计意图：本阶段活动旨在帮助学生在语境中通过感知核心语言到运用逻辑推理建构文本，学习核心语言。学生在教师的指导下听音，模仿，唱歌谣，朗读等，从大意到细节逐步掌握学习要点，同时语言思维也得到有效发展。学生通过各种活动进一步理解、内化核心语言，为下一步语言输出奠定基础；同时价值观的渗透在任务完成的过程中主动完成。
