Look at the sentences from the reading passage and answer the questions.
In sentence (a), who is swimming at night

Why does the author choose to use different forms of verbs in the two sentences
The woman does the action of swimming. So the author uses -ing.
Pay attention to the words!
People are frightened. As a result, passive voice is used. So the author uses -ed.
Now let's read more examples.

2. see, hear, notice, observe, watch, feel, find等感官动词后接V-ed作宾语补足语,表示该动作与宾语之间是被动关系或者该动作已经完成。

3. have, get, make, leave, keep等使役动词后接V-ed作宾语补足语,表示动作由他人完成。

哪些词既能接V-ing又能接V-ed作宾语补足语?
1. see, watch, hear, feel, notice, smell等感官动词;
2. have, leave, keep等使役动词。
在with的复合结构中既可接V-ing 也可接V-ed作宾语补足语。这一结构通常在句中作时间、方式、条件、原因等状语。
1) The murderer was brought in, with his hands tied behind his back.
2) With water heated, we can see the steam.
3) With prices going up so fast, we can't afford luxuries.

Reporter: Hello from Sanjiangyuan National Nature Reserve (SNNR). With me today is Lin Feng, a staff member working here. Lin Feng, can you tell us a bit about SNNR
Lin Feng: Well, SNNR was established in 2000 and is the highest and second largest nature reserve in China. Here, you can see dramatic landscapes. They change from mountains to grasslands, forests to rivers.
Most importantly, it contains the headwaters of the Yellow River, the Changjiang River and the Lancang River.
Reporter: What's the biggest problem faced by SNNR
