一、would like 的用法
would like 意为“愿意; 喜欢”, 与want意义相近, 但语气比 want 更加委婉。would like 没有人称和时态的变化，与人称代词连用时 would 可缩略为’d。

The girl would like to be an artist.这个女孩想成为一名艺术家。

Would you like a/an/some ... 肯定回答: Yes, please. 否定回答: No, thanks.

二、可数名词和不可数名词
1.名词按其所表示的事物的性质可分可数名词和不可数名词。
不可数名词表示不能直接用数目计算的名词，没有单复数之分。
可数名词与不可数名词的区别如下：
可数名词 不可数名词
修饰词 可直接用不定冠词a/an或具体的数词修饰 如 an egg, two potatoes 不能直接用不定冠词 a/an或具体的数词修饰， 表示确切的数量时， 需用“a/an或数词+表示计量单位的名词+of+不可数名词”结构, 如 a cup of milk, three bowls ofsoup

△有些名词既可以作可数名词，又可以作不可数名词。示例如下：
chicken作可数名词，意为“鸡” (作不可数名词，意为“鸡肉”

(1) sure 的用法

some 一般用在肯定句中；any一般用在否定句、疑问句中。

特殊情况：some可以用在疑问句中，表达“建议、请求、邀请”并希望得到对方的肯定回答Would you like some tea 你想喝点茶吗 Can I have some oranges 我可以吃一些橘子吗

本句是服务员询问顾客是否点餐的常用交际语，order此处用作名词，表示“点菜”。
The waiter is coming with your order. 服务员会把您点的菜送来。

fish 既可以用作可数名词也可以用作不可数名词
用作可数名词时，表示“鱼的条数”时，单数和复数形式相同，如：two fish两条鱼；
指“鱼的种类”时复数形式为 fishes, 如: two fishes 两种鱼。
fish 用作不可数名词时，意为“鱼肉”。
6. Birthday Food Around the World
around the world意为“世界各地”, 相当于 all over the world。
We have friends around the world. 我们的朋友遍布世界各地。
7. The number of candles is the person's age.
the number of 表示“……的数量”，后跟名词或者代词的复数，作主语时，谓语用单数形式；
a number of表示“许多的、大量的”，后跟复数名词，作主语时谓语动词用复数形式。
The number of the students in the room is 500. 房间里的学生人数是 500人。
A number of the students are playing basketball. 许多学生在打篮球。
8. If he or she blows out all the candles in one go, the wish will come true.
本句是含有if引导的条件状语从句的主从复合句，主句含有情态动词，if 引导的条件状语从句用一般现在时。
含有 if 引导的条件状语从句，遵循“主将从现”的原则，即若主句用一般将来时(或主句为祈使句、主句含有情态动词)，if 引导的条件状语从句则用一般现在时。
If it rains tomorrow, I won't go to the park. 如果明天下雨, 我就不去公园了。

cut up 意为“切碎”,代词作宾语时, 只能放在两者之间Pass the meat to me. I'll cut it up.
名词作宾语时,可以放在中间, 也可以放在后边。 Cut up the vegetables, please.

be short of 意为“缺少、 缺乏”。We're short of food. 我们缺少食物。Are you short of money

辨析 wear, put on 和 dress
wear 穿着 侧重于穿戴的状态 The girl wears a red coat today.
put on 穿上 侧重于穿戴的动作 Put on your coat. It is cold outside.
dress 给……穿衣服 指给自己或者他人穿衣服 The boy is too young to dress himself.
