Section A 知识梳理
1. camped by the lake
camp此处用作动词, 表示“扎营、搭帐篷”, go camping“去野营”; camp out“野营、露营”。
They often go camping during summer holidays. 暑假期间他们经常去露营。
The students love camping out during summer holidays. 学生们喜欢在暑假外出露营。
2. I worked as a guide at the Natural History Museum.
1)as此处用作介词，“作为、当作”， 后接表示职业的名词。
He works as an actor. As a student, you should study hard. 作为一名学生, 你应该努力学习。
2)连词 当…的时候，引导时间状语从句。
I saw Peter drawing as I went past. 我经过时看见彼得正在画画。
3)连词 因为，由于，引导原因状语从句。
I didn't buy the car as it was expensive. 我没有买那辆小汽车, 因为它太贵了。
4)连词 照…的方式，引导方式状语从句。
Please do as your parents say.请按照你父母说的做。
5)连词 正如;如同
As we all know, the monkey is good at climbing trees. 正如我们所知, 猴子擅长爬树。
3. How interesting! 感叹句
how 引导的感叹句的结构：“How+形容词/副词+主语+谓语”。
How beautiful the bird is! 这只鸟多漂亮啊!How fast Mary runs! 玛丽跑得多快啊!
what 引导的感叹句常用的结构：
“What+a/an+形容词+单数可数名词+主语+谓语”
“What+形容词+可数名词复数/不可数名词+主语+谓语”。

kind of表示“有点儿”, 相当于 a little。She is kind of fat.
5. A family of mice were in the kitchen on Saturday morning when they saw a big cat.
family 为集合名词，表示整体，指代家庭整体概念时，谓语动词用单数形式
表示个体，指代家庭成员时，谓语动词用复数形式。
The Green family are watching TV now. 格林一家现在正在看电视。
The Green family is a big one.
6.... that's why it's important to learn a second language.
That's why...意为“那就是为什么…”, 表示结果。
I got up late. That's why I missed the bus.我起晚了。那就是我错过公共汽车的原因。
that's because. 那是因为… because 引导表语从句, 表示原因。
He got up late this morning. That's because he stayed up late last night.
他今天早上起晚了。那是因为他昨晚熬夜了。
a second language 第二语言, language 作可数名词, 意为“语言”。
Chinese is popular now, so many people are learning it as a second language.
汉语现在很受欢迎，所以很多人正把它作为第二语言来学习。

7. Did you do anything interesting last weekend
anything interesting有趣的事, 形容词修饰不定代词时, 放在不定代词后边。
This isn't anything important. 这没什么大不了的。
Did you do anything fun on your vacation 你假期做了什么有趣的事吗
8. There we put up our tents and made a fire to keep us warm and cook food on.
(1) put up 此处表示“搭建起”, 还可以表示“张贴、举起、建造”
Please put up your hand if you have any question. 有问题的人请举手。
You’d better put up a notice here. 你最好在这里贴个告示。
They put up many buildings last year. 去年他们盖了许多大楼。
put 相关短语:
put on 穿上, 增重 put down 放下 put away 把…收好
put back 放回原处 put out扑灭 put off 推迟
9. On the first night, we just sat under the moon and told each other stories.
each other 意为“互相、 彼此”, =one another, 常用作宾语。
They helped each other. 他们互相帮助。We talked to each other.我们互相交谈。
10. But I was so tired that I went to sleep early.
so…that…意为“如此…以至于…”，so是副词，后接形容词和副词，that引导结果状语从句。

The boy ran so fast that I couldn't catch up with him. 那男孩跑得太快了, 我追不上他。
拓展：so that为了，以便， 因此 引导目的状语从句或结果状语从句
You'd better take a map with you so that you won't get lost. 你最好带上地图以免迷路。 目的状语从句He got up late, so that he missed the bus.他起床晚了, 所以错过了公共汽车。结果状语从句
11. When we looked out of our tent, we saw a big snake sleeping near the fire.
①look out“向外看”
表示“向外看某物”用 look out at sth. 表示“向···外看”用 look out of。
② look out还可以表示“小心”, “对…小心”用look out for
Look out for the coming bus. 当心开来的公共汽车。
12. We shouted to our parents to let them know about the danger.
shout to sb.“对某人大声叫喊”
We shouted to the driver, but he didn't hear us. 我们向司机喊叫, 但他没听见。
shout at表示“因为生气或者愤怒而大喊”。
Don't shout at me. 别对我大喊大叫。
13. This woke the snake up and it moved into the forest near the lake.
① wake作不及物动词, 表示“醒来”, 常同 up连用。
He usually wakes up early in the morning.
② wake作及物动词, 表示“喊醒、 叫醒”, 常同up 连用。
