We can see the moon every day, but in fact, humans have not been able to see the true face of the moon. For example, we all view the same side of it---the near side. So why don't we ever see the far side of the moon
The secret behind this fascinating mystery is “tidal locking(潮汐锁定)”. To better understand it, let's imagine two friends holding hands and turning around. As they turn, they always face each other because they're locked in position by their hands, Similarly, the moon is locked to Earth by tidal force, which means it takes just as long for the moon to turn about its axis (轴) as it does to go around Earth, As a result, we always see the same side of the moon from our position on Earth, while the opposite side, known as the far side or the dark side, remains hidden from view.
Now, you might be wondering why people use the term “dark side” when referring to the far side of the moon, Contrary to popular belief, the far side isn't always in darkness. Like the near side, it experiences day and night. However, since we can't observe it from Earth, it often lies in mystery, and thus it gets this name.
Although we’ll never see the far side of the moon directly from Earth, humanity has found ways to explore it. Several spacecrafts have taken photos which furthered our understanding of the lunar far side, In June 2024, China's Chang'e 6 made a soft landing on the far side of the moon and sent back more closeup photos. It brought back soil and rocks collected from there, opening a new chapter in lunar exploration and enabling scientists to discover what they didn't know about the moon.
There is still so much more to explore on the lunar far side. For example, the far side of the moon is a rare and quiet place free from radio signals reflecting from our planet, which allows scientists to study space phenomena with greater clarity, making it a perfect location for studying space using radio waves.
28. How does the writer explain “tidal locking” in Paragraph 2
A. By analyzing data.
B. By quoting a study.
C. By giving an example.
D. By comparing findings.
29. What is a common misunderstanding of the far side of the moon
A. There lives unknown life.
B. It shouldn't be disturbed.
C. It is visible from Earth.
D. There is no sunlight.
30. Why is Chang'e 6 mentioned in Paragraph 4
A. To share a well-known legend.
B. To explain its working principle,
C. To promote an advanced technology.
D. To show efforts of lunar exploration.
31. What is the last paragraph mainly about
A. Hidden value of the lunar far side.
B. Detailed information of mysteries.
C. Special advantages of radio waves.
D. Brief reviews of moon exploration

Researches show that 43,000 years ago our ancestors were making music, The fact that music has been with us for so long explains why it affects us both mentally and physically. Tears can uncontrollably well up even in the most hardened eyes when Bruce Springsteen sings The River. It's hard not to nod your head with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts' I Love Rock 'N’ Roll. And you might not be human if you don't feel an urge to dance while listening to Taylor Swift's Shake It Off. We have evolved (进化)to feel music.
There's plentiful evidence that humans really feel music, but are the feelings universal If humans from different cultures listen to the same songs, will they respond in the same way That's what a team of Chinese and Finnish researchers wanted to find out.
In a recent experiment, they presented nearly 2,000 participants from the United Kingdom the United States, and China with different songs and asked them to describe where they felt the music in their bodies, For this, the researchers gave each subject blank outlines of a human and asked them to color the regions where they felt changing activity in their bodies.
The researchers found that all the participants responded to the songs in nearly the same way. “Across both cultures, happy and danceable songs activated the arms, legs, and the head, In contrast, sad, gentle, and scary songs activated mainly the chest and head regions," the researchers described. "The results suggest similar bodily feelings of musical emotions across distant cultures." Furthermore, the results show that humans feel music in the same way regardless of language and familiarity. Participants from one culture were not very familiar with others' songs. Instead, their bodies were responding to specific acoustic (听觉的)clues.
However, the team note that their experiment only analyzed two cultures, meaning it's possible that people living in a faraway part of the world would react to music very differently, which will be the highlight of their further study.
32.What do the songs mentioned in Paragraph l feature
A. Danceable beats.
B. Traditional styles.
C. Emotional impact.
D. Confusing content.
33, What do the Chinese and Finnish researchers aim to do
A. Understand the history of music.
B. Explore people's feeling for music.
C. Compare cultural differences in songs.
D. Study songs' effect on physical health.
34. What can we learn from Paragraph 4
A. All types of music activate the legs
B. Humans respond similarly to music.
C. Familiar songs inspire more feelings.
D. People learn language through music.
35. What will the team do in the future
A. Create new music types.
B. Observe human behavior.
C. Put the discoveries to use.
D. Expand the participant range.
