The analysis of the text.
【What】The first picture is asking about what they have in their school bags. There are three small dialogues in the listening part. They ask about Teng Fei's schoolbag, Yaming's bike and Peter's new pants. They also ask about the color of the objects.
【How】The text of this lesson is a dialogue between Teng Fei, Yaming and Peter. The main content is to ask about the new school things for the new semester and their colors. The text is equipped with theme pictures to help students understand the dialogue situation.
【Why】By understanding the items and features of the new school things in the textbook, they can understand what items they have, aiming to make students know their own school supplies and daily necessities.
The analysis of students.
【Strength】Students are familiar with some daily items and they show some interest in the topic to some degree.
【Weakness】In listening and speaking activities, some students can not get information quickly and accurately. As the number of subjects changes, it’s confusing to ask a question properly.
Aims of teaching.
【Language competence】
(1)Identify names of the things;
(2)Use a/an before a noun correctly;
(3)Talk about colors with right sentence patterns;
(4)Identify ownership using - ’s;

Improve the thinking ability of classification by putting things into groups;

Purpose of the design: Through the activities, students can identify some common school things and talk about them by the structure in pairs to get familiar with the expressions.
6.Colors around us Do you have the eyes to discover the colorful world Look at the picture and tell me the colors you see. 6.Students look at the pictures and speak out the colors. 6.Students can identify the colors in the pictures correctly.
7.2a Now, let’s match the words of colors with the pictures. 7.2a Students figure out the colors and find the pictures accordingly. 7.2a Students can complete the task properly.
8.2b Look at the things and talk about what colors they are. -What color is the.../are the... -It’s...; They are... 8.2b Look at the things and talk about what colors they are by the structure. -What color is the.../are the... -It’s...; They are... 8.2b Students can practice the dialogue fluently and identify the changes of structure based on singular or plural nouns.

Purpose of the design: Students are able to understand the topic of this unit in order to keep clean and activate students' vocabulary and structure about school things and colors.
11.Learn more about colors (1)What do the words in red mean (2)What do the expressions mean 11.(1)Students tell the meanings of the words and summarize the rules. Some color words, when capitalized, can indicate a person's last name. (2)Students learn and take notes regarding some common expressions of colors. 11.Students can learn more about more meanings about colors in daily life.
Purpose of the design: By learning more about more meanings about colors in daily life, students can have a better understanding of the cultural differences.
12.Ask the students to summarize the language points in this lesson by the structure given. 12.Students summarize by completing the mind map. 12.Students can complete the mind map by what they’ve learned in class.
Purpose of the design: Through the summary, the knowledge schema can be established in a constructive approach.
