How:

本课语篇为对话式的配图故事，介绍熊先生想给孙女庆祝生日写封信，但不知道如何送出去，在鸽子先生的帮助下用电子邮件及时把信送到了。
Why：
作者通过Mr Bear和Mr Pigeon的对话，引导学生体会如何选择合适的通讯方式进行联络。
How：
本语篇是对话式的配图故事，语篇的语言结构如图所示：涉及到两种通讯方式的用时、地址、特点的词汇，如：mail a letter/deliver an email, post office/computer, three days/ today, email address /telephone number 等。但文本中有关距离和用时的问答 “She lives a long way away in Toronto. How long will it take It will take me three days. ”对学生来说有一定难度。语篇使用一般现在时，对话情节易于理解。
