Unit 1 Hello!
教学设计
本单元设计分为4个课时:
第一课时 Lead-in + Listening and speaking
第二课时 Phonetics review (Vowels: Chant 1 and Chant 2)
第三课时 Phonetics review (Vowels: Chant 3 and Chant 4)
第四课时 Phonetics review (Consonants) + Unit task
第一课时 Lead-in + Listening & Speaking
1.教学内容
本课时包括Lead-in & Listening and speaking两部分,具体内容为:见面或分别时用合理的方式打招呼。
2.教学重点、难点
教学重点:了解并辨别在不同的时间和场所与不同的人打招呼的基本模式;
教学难点:根据对话选择适当的语境,并正确掌握及应用打招呼的各种表达方式。
3.教学目标
知识目标:在见面或分别时用英语正确打招呼;
能力目标:听---辨别不同的打招呼方式的使用对象、时间及场所;
说---用合理的方式打招呼;
文化意识:掌握中国人与英美国家的人在见面时打招呼的不同习惯。
4.教学步骤
Step I Lead—in
Activity 1
1. Go through the drills A---H, and then ask the Ss to read aloud.
2. Listen and tick. (Ss’ individual work)
3. The teacher does orally check and feedback.
4. Go through the drills again, and get the Ss to tell the proper situation in which each drill could be used.
(设计意图:先让学生熟悉各个句型,然后独立完成,教师再作反馈,这个过程可以检验学生的基础水平。)
Activity 2
1. Look at the 6 pictures, then choose the proper greetings for each picture from activity 1.
2. The teacher does the check work., individually or from the whole class.
Step II Listening and speaking
Listening
Activity 3
1. Look and think. The Ss read the pictures and think about the possible greetings from A and B.
2. Listen and tick the correct answer.
3. Ss Check their answers and the teacher does the feedback.
4. The teacher gives an detailed explanation on the choices, especially on Chinese and western different ways of greetings.
(设计意图:学生对中西方人士打招呼用语的不同可能会有疑问或好奇,教师此时可进一步举例说明,灌输英语文化意识。)
Activity 4
1. Look and think. Ss do a quick prediction on the choices.
(设计意图:信息的预测能力对英语学习而言也很重要,平时应多加训练。)
2. Listen and fill in the blanks, and the teacher just has a brief check.
3. Pair work. Ss read aloud the 4 short dialogues.
Activity 5
1. Ss look at 3 pairs of pictures and tell the different situations each of them shows.
2. listen, choose and check the answers.
*3. Pair work. Ss do the oral work in pairs---retelling the dialogues after the recordings.
Speaking
Activity 6
1. Listen and follow.
2. The whole class read the dialogue aloud.
3. Ss underline the drills of greetings.
4. Orally practise the dialogue in pairs after the teacher’s quick check.
Activity 7
1. Listen and watch. The teacher demonstrates one dialouge with a student according to one of the pictures, using the given drills after the model of activity 6.
2. Practse. Ss work in pairs, making their own dialogues according to different pictures.
3. Ss’s demonstration. (several pairs if possible)
(设计意图:一定要给学生创造表达的机会,除了锻炼口头交际能力外,还能检测其语言输出的质量。)
Step III Consolidation practice
Ask the Ss to read and memorize the Everyday English drills after the class..

第四课时Consonants + Unit task
1.教学内容
本课时包括Phonetics review (consonants)及Unit task部分,具体训练内容为:辅音:/p/ /k/ /t/ /d/ /b/ /g/,以及与人进行基本交流并获取信息。
2.教学重点、难点
教学重点:上述音标的准确发音;
上述音标与元音/i:/ /i/ / / /e/ 组合后的单词发音;
教学难点:利用打招呼用语获取他人信息。
3. 教学目标
知识目标: 通过模仿、辨别进一步熟悉音标中辅音:/p/ /k/ /t/ /d/ /b/ /g/的正确发音及与元音/i:/ /i/ / / /e/ 组合后的单词发音;
能力目标: 正确跟读上述音标、单词及相关绕口令。
4. 教学步骤
Step I Revision and introduction
Make a brief revision about the vowels /i:/ /i/ / / /e/ that we learned in last section, and introduce the pronunciation /p/ /k/ /t/ /d/ /b/ /g/ that will appear in this class..
Step II Practice on Consonants: /p/ /k/ /t/ /d/ /b/ /g/
Activity 24
1. Read and write. Ss write down the proper letter according to the pronunciation.
(individual work)
2. Ask the Ss to write down more phonetic forms of other English letters.
(设计意图:让学生对各字母的发音有个重新的认识与纠正,并练习写音标。)
Activity 25
Read and match (individual work), and then the teacher checks the answers.(Listening is unnecessary if it ispossible.)
(设计意图:此处可以根据学生的实际状况,跳过听录音,直接根据图片及语言提示完成练习,对教材步骤作一点小的变动。)
Activity 26
1. Listen and read. Ss listen to the 6 tongue twisters and follow to read again and again.
2. Repeat. Ss repeat the twisters, at first they would be slower, but try to be quicker some time later.
*3. The teacher could check the Ss by several ways, such as group competion, tongue twister relay race, etc.
(设计意图:将有趣的绕口令作为小组活动的素材,采用小组竞赛、小组口头接力等形式训练语音,也增强了学习的趣味性。)
Step III Unit task
Get to know your classmates.
1. Divide the Ss into groups of 4, and each of them thinks of an English name of their own.
2. In each group, Ss greet each other and ask for others’ English names, using the drills:
A: Hello / Good morning / Good afternoon. What’s your name / May I have your name please
B: My name is … / I’m…
3. Each of the Ss introduces themselves to the others by completing the drills:
I like…
I don’t like…
And they are required to choose the words from the following list:
meat, beans, peas, beef, bread, cheese
4. Each group is asked to introduce one of its members to the whole class, the one who introduces should use the drills:
His / Her name is___________.
He / She likes _____________.
He / She doesn’t like ___________.
(设计意图:通过转述他人信息,学生本人对该课中的重要句型及口语表达都得到了锻炼。)
Step IV Further practice
Ask the Ss to introduce more members of each group to the rest of the class, so that all of them could get a better understanding of each classmate.

教学反思
本单元为开学的第一课,要求学生能了解并辨别在不同的时间和场所与不同的人打招呼的基本模式;以及根据对话选择适当的语境,并正确掌握及应用打招呼的各种表达方式。因此本单元的教学注重交际的实用性,既操练单元教学要求,又将文化意识巧妙地融入交际中。同时,各种不同的交际场景的出现使得任务更加真实可信。本单元整体设计贴近生活、生动且学生参与性强,有利于培养他们积极思维的能力。

(Vowels: Chant 3 and Chant 4)
1.教学内容
本课时包括Phonetics review (Vowels: Chant 3 and Chant 4)部分,具体训练内容为:元音/ / /e/,辅音:/p/ /k/ /t/ /d/ /b/ /g/。

教学重点:上述音标的准确发音;
教学难点:元音/ / /ai/ /e/的区分。
3. 教学目标
知识目标: 通过模仿、辨别进一步熟悉音标中元音/ / /e/,辅音:/p/ /k/ /t/ /d/ /b/ /g/的正确发音;
能力目标: 正确跟读上述音标及相关歌谣、单词。
4. 教学步骤
Step I Revision and introduction

Chant 3 A rat and a cat
Activity 16
1. Try to pronouce. Ss read aloud the words given: Jack, Frank, cat, kite.
2. Listen and choose. Ss fill in the blanks with the words they listened, then check with each other.
3. The teacher writes down the words cat and kite, and asks the Ss to tell / / and /ai/
Activity 17
1. Listen to a chant. (individual work)
2. Find and underline. Ss try to find out those words which contain the pronunciation / / in this chant, and underline them.
*3. Read and recite. Ss read aloud the chant and try to recite it in 1 minute.( only for possible Ss)
(设计意图:对部分程度好的学生,可以作此要求,熟读后的背诵能加深记忆。)
Activity 18
1. Listen and repeat. Ss listen to Chant 3 once again, then follow to read, paying attention to the underlined words.
2. Brainstorm. Try to list as many as possible the words that contain pronunciation / / and do orally practice.
(设计意图:以头脑风暴的形式复习单词。)
Activity 19
1. Choose and fill. Ss fill in the blanks with the words black and fat. (individual work)
2. Read and feedback within groups of 4 Ss. (group work)
*3. Read and recite. Ss read aloud once again and try to recite it in 1 minute.( only for possible Ss)
(设计意图同上:对部分程度好的学生,可以作此要求,熟读后的背诵能加深记忆。)
Step III Practice on Vowels: /e/

1. Try to pronouce. Ss read aloud the words given:
better, best, red, right, desk, rest, bell and bill.
2. Listen and circle (Ss’ individual work), then check with each other.
3. The teacher checks the answers.
Activiity 21
1. Listen to a chant. (individual work)
2. Find and underline. Ss try to find out those words which contain the pronunciation / e / in this chant, and underline them.
*3. Read and recite. Ss read aloud the chant and try to recite it in 1 minute.( only for possible Ss)

1. Listen and repeat. Ss listen to Chant 4 once again, then follow to read, paying attention to the underlined words.

2. Read and find. Ask the volunteer group to give their answers, then check with the whole class.
3. Ss try to find out those words which contains the pronunciation of /i:/ /i/ and / /.
Step IV Consolidation practice
Try to recite Chant 3 and Chant 4 after the class, paying attention to the pronunciation of / / and /e/.

1. Try to pronouce. Ss read aloud the words given: peas, beef, meat, cheese and beans.
2. Repeat and choose. Ss match the words with proper pictures, then check with each other.
3. Listen and check. The teacher checks the Ss’pronunciation of the above words.
4. The teacher briefly summarizes the letter groups that pronouce /i:/, such as –ee, -ea.
(设计意图:可采用头脑风暴的形式,让学生先自己尽量多列举,可复习已学词汇,且音形结合。)
Activity 9
1. Listen to a chant. (individual work)
2. Find and underline. Ss try to find out those words which contain the pronunciation /i:/ in this chant, and underline them.
*3. Read and recite. Ss read aloud the chant and try to recite it in 1 minute.( only for possible Ss)
(设计意图:对部分程度好的学生,可以作此要求,熟读后的背诵能加深记忆。)
Activity 10
1. Listen and repeat. Ss listen to Chant 1 once again, then follow to read, paying attention to the underlined words.
2. Brainstorm. Try to list as many as possible the words that contain pronunciation /i:/ and do orally practice.

1. Choose and fill. Ss fill in the blanks with the words from activity 8. (individual work)
2. Read and feedback within groups of 4 Ss. (group work)
3. Feedback from the whole class. Try to find out those ones who have the samilar taste on What do we eat

3. Read and practise. Ss read aloud the 6 words and then try to tell which word the teacher is pronouncing.(Pair work is also possible)

1. Listen to a chant. (individual work)
2. Find and underline. Ss try to find out those words which contain the pronunciation /i/ in this chant, and underline them.
*3. Read and recite. Ss read aloud the chant and try to recite it in 1 minute.( only for possible Ss)

1. Listen and repeat. Ss listen to Chant 2 once again, then follow to read, paying attention to the underlined words.

Read and find. The whole class try to read or recite (if possible) chant 2 together, and then try to find one word that contains pronunciation /i:/ (speaks)
Step IV Consolidation practice
Try to recite Chant 1 and Chant 2 after the class, paying attention to the difference between /i:/ and /i/.
