名词单复数
名词单复数是英语语法中的一个重要概念,涉及到名词根据其所指物体的数量变化而发生的形态变化。名词单复数的规则主要包括:
一般情况:大多数名词在单数形式后直接加-s,例如,dog -> dogs。
以s, x, sh, ch结尾的名词,在单数形式后加-es,例如,class -> classes。
以辅音字母+y结尾的名词,变y为i再加-es,例如,baby -> babies。
以-y结尾的名词,如果是“辅音+y”就变为“i+es”,否则直接加s,例如,city -> cities。
以o结尾的名词,如果是“辅音+o”结尾加-es,例如,hero -> heroes;如果是“元音+o”结尾加-s,例如,radio -> radios。
以f或fe结尾的名词,变f或fe为ves,例如,thief -> thieves。
特殊情况:有些名词的单复数形式不变,如deer, fish, sheep;有些名词的单复数形式不规则变化,如child -> children, man -> men。

数词-基数词
基数词是描述事物数量的多少的数词,英语中主要分为基数词和序数词两类。基数词在数学上是指可以比较大小的数,用于描述事物数量的多少。英语中基数词的构成包括:
1-10:one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten。
11-19:eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen。
20以上:twenty, thirty, forty等,其中二十以上的数词构成规则较为复杂,涉及将十位和个位基数词形式之间添加连字符“-”来表示几十几,例如twenty-one, thirty-two等。
基数词变为序数词时,一般在基数词后加词尾-th,但有几个词变化特殊,例如one, two, three单独记;eight去t,nine去e后再加-th;five, twelve将ve换成f再加-th;整十基数变序数,先把ty变成tie。两位数时则十位数用基数词,个位数用序数词,最后加上th,例如twenty-first,thirty-second等。
