(1)必须
eg: We must go now,needn’t we

---Yes, you must. No,you needn’t.=No,you don't have/need to.
(2)must be
must be doing 对正在发生的事情做出推测
must have done 对过去发生的事情做出推测
eg: He must be a doctor, isn’t he
He must be a teacher(改为否定句)He can’t be a teacher.
There’s some strange sound outside…I think it must be teenagers having fun. (P59)
The field is full of water, it must have rained heavily last night.

eg: She must have arrived there last night，didn’t she？

2.may,could,might
eg: It’s reported on TV that in might/could/may rain tonight.
You may be right. I am not sure.
It might rain this evening.
Will you answer the phone It could be your mother calling you.
He could be running for exercising(P61)
He might be late for work.
He might be running to catch a bus to work. (P61)
3.can表示现在的推测，只用于疑问句和否定句
eg: Who can it be at the door Can it be Tom
What he said can't be true, can it
What can she possibly want
Where can she have gone She can't have gone to school. It's Sunday
It can’t be true.
4.need
(1) need n. be in great need of sth=need sth badly 非常需要
meet the need of 满足…的需要
There be no need for sb. to do sth. =sb. needn’t do sth.
eg The doctor said I was in great need of holiday.
The food and drinks can’t meet the need of the people here.
There is no need for you to copy anything on the screen.
(2)need v. need to do (主动语态)
needn’t to do=don’t need to=don’t have to
need doing=need to be done (被动语态)
needn’t be done(不需要被…)
(3)need 情 态 动 词，用于疑问句和否定句
---Need sb. do ... =does/do sb. need to do ---Yes，sb. must./No，sb needn’t.

当whose作为特殊疑向词”谁的”时，用以提问物品的所属关系，后接名词。其答语常用名词所有格，名词性物主代词或动词短语belong to

2. attend v. 出席，参加（会议，婚礼，去上课，上学，听报告等）

eg: I attended a concert yesterday so It might still be in the music hall.
3. valuable adj. 贵重的，很有用的，宝贵的
be valuable to sb. 对某人来说很有价值
eg: Do you have anything valuable in your schoolbag
The book is valuable to me.
valueless adj. 无价值的，无效果的，没用的
value n. 价值
4. happening n. 事件，发生的事情（常指不寻常的，常用复数）
eg: There have been strange happenings here lately.
* happen vi. 发生
sth. happen + place/ time 某时某地发生了某事
eg: The story happened in e small village in 2013.

sth. happen to sb. 某人出了某事
eg: A car accident_happened to her this morning.
