1). Lead-in.
Greet Ss and lead to the main topic--- A Magical Leaf.
2). Presentation.
T: Henan International Tea Culture’s Day will be held 4 months later. If you are a tea lover, you can be volunteers. If you want to be volunteers, you have a great time...
Lead Ss to think about what foreigners are interested in. There are three excellent topics they may be interested in. Tell them legends, popularity about tea and show them a tea art performance. They should make a plan and try their best to show talents if they want to be volunteers.
. Task 1: Tell legends.
Tell the story how tea was invented by accident. Watch the video and dub(配音) for it.
Let the know how to tell a story perfectly. Use the main points: When,Where, Who, What, Why and How.
Pair work. Retell another magical story, Shen Nong tasted hundreds of herbs. Key words: grains [ɡre n] 谷物, poisoned [ p zn] 中毒 himself 72 times, drifted into[dr ft] 飘, chewed on[t u ] 咀嚼 ,revived himself [r va v] 复活.
After telling, communicate some questions with them.
Q1. Why did Shen Nong taste hundreds of herbs and grains
Q2. What do you think of Shen Nong
Q3. How about the leaf.
. Task 2. Find out popularity of tea.
Describe the spread of tea according to the map.
Group work. Ask Ss what they hope to know about. Then read the article and find out the popularity of municate and study the article.
Task 3. Tea Art Performance.
Watch a tea performance and discuss how to make a cup of tea in groups. Then show in class.
Task 4. Make a poster to speak for tea.
Group work. Summarize what Ss have learnt and show their talents.

Tell something you know about tea to your family and friends.
