The reading material is a speech made by a girl, which tells us how music had helped her recover from hard times. This is a typical speech writing with clear structures and forms, easy words, and different rhetorical devices, which is very suitable to be a sample writing.学情分析 The students are from grade1, class 4, they have a good commend of English using. Before this Class, they already have some background knowledge to express their opinions and views on the topic of Music.教学目标 After this class, students can 1. Understand the structure and features of a good speech; 2. Practice the basic steps of speech writing; 3. T gives the definition of speech writing and ask Ss to read. T leads Ss to think about a question: How to make a good speech writing 创设情境,以任务驱动学生高效学习Read for the main ideas T asks the students to read the speech and match the main ideas to different paragraphs. Q: Does the passage focus on one topic 初读文章,了解大意,并引导学生找出文章特点之一:聚焦一个主题Read for the structure Based on the main ideas of the paragraphs, Ss divide the speech into three parts. ①Invite a student to share his/her division. ②Q:Does the passage has a clear structure 理清文章结构,发现文章特点之一:结构清晰Read for the details Read for the details Read for the details in the beginning Ss read the beginning part and summarize the content Q:What does Sarah write in the beginning Read for the details in the body part ①Ss read paragraph 2 and fill in the blanks to find out how to a personal story. Q1:What does Sarah write in paragraph 2 Q2: How to make a personal story ②Discussion Ss discuss in group of 2 to make their own story about how did music influence them. Students can refer to the hints on the screen. ③T invite a student to share his/her personal story. ④Read paragraph3 and find out the rhetorical devices used. Q: What rhetorical devices are used in this paragraph ⑤Do more practices to translate sentences for simile, metaphor and personification.
