资源简介 Book 4 Unit 10 Connections教学设计单元主题 本单元围绕Connections这一主题展开,以说明文、节目访谈、小说等多模态语篇从深入了解人们之间的关系、反思与人相处、解决人际交往中的问题等多个角度探讨人与人之间的联系话题, 属于“人与社会”这一主题。本单元从了解人与人之间的紧密联系开始,依次呈现了和谐社区精神对人们的积极影响、在人与人之间冲突和连接中展现出来的人性特点等学习内容,帮助学生了解人们之间的联系、沟通交往对人的影响,从而掌握正确与人交流相处的方法。单元目标 语言能力目标 掌握并运用对于不同关系的介绍的方法,并描述各种关系中存在的问题和从中的获益;听懂、获取并梳理描述社区精神的信息,概括总结良好社区精神的重要性;获取小说中的信息,梳理、推断人物的联系、冲突和心理状态;梳理记叙文的文本结构,发现、总结、赏析小说的写作特点;通过阅读文本总结新闻六要素、文体结构和语言特征,并进行新闻的撰写。 文化意识目标 初步了解解决人际关系中问题的应对方法和技巧;掌握美式英语和英式英语在词汇和拼写方面的差异,从而了解两国文化差异;通过对不同联系中存在的矛盾、对人们的影响的学习、分析,总结、反思与他人的联系和沟通技巧,并运用这些技能建立良好的人际关系。 思维品质目标 在听力和阅读之后,可以通过思维导图的形式来概括、提炼听力文本和阅读文本的主要信息,进而培养学生的结构化思维方式和清晰的条理;通过对良好社区精神的学习,发表对社区精神的看法,提出如何传承优良社区精神的观点;通过对小说内容的分析,对节选部分作合理的读后续写;并鼓励学生独立思考,培养学生创造性的思维品质,增强学生有条理地描述和表达的思维意识。 学习能力目标 利用听力和口语中的对话,带动学生进行同伴之间或小组内的模仿练习和角色扮演,培养学生的合作学习能力;介绍自己家乡或居住地的社区精神;通过视听说等各种渠道拓展学习方式,激发学习兴趣;通过阅读后对各种语言现象的思考和讨论,学会小组合作和探究式学习,提高学习的主动性;能够选择恰当的策略与方法,监控、评价、反思和调整自己的学习内容和进程。Topic Talk板块教学设计 (建议时长40–45分钟,教师可根据教学实际酌情调整。)课型 Listening + Speaking主题语境 人与社会——解决人际交往的问题、了解与人相处获得的益处内容分析 本部分包括两篇听力材料,第一篇听力材料为人物对话,谈论生活中联系紧密的人,与之相处存在的问题及从这段关系中的收获,引导学生思考生活中不同的关系的影响。第二篇听力材料的人物对话中,两个朋友谈论中分享了解决邻里矛盾的经历,向听众展示了解决联系中问题的解决方法。该课作为本单元的起始课,起到了激活主题相关背景知识的作用,并为本单元后面的教学内容做了话题、词汇以及思维的铺垫。教学目标 通过听力材料1的练习,获取表达各种联系的词汇和句式。 基于对听力材料1的理解,画出它的结构图,从而形成如何描述某种联系及其存在的问题和从中获得的益处。 通过听力材料2的练习,掌握更多处理人际交往问题的技巧与方法。教学重点 引导学生画出听力材料1的知识结构图。 学会边听材料内容,边记录材料中的重要信息。教学难点 引导学生描述常见的联系人。 引导学生反思联系中存在的问题及解决方法。教学策略 听说法Teaching contents Procedures PurposesTeacher’s activity Students’ activityLead in T leads Ss to talk about which people are related to them in their daily life and why they are important. T asks Ss what these people are and then lead to the topic of connections. Ss think of the people they are related to in their life and give reasons why they are important. Lead into the topic.Pre-listening Activity 1 1. T asks Ss to talk about different connections in their life following the given example. Ss talk in pairs about more connections in their life and demonstrate their importance. Get familiar with vocabulary about different connections and get prepared for the listening.Listening Activity 1 1. In the first-time listening, T presents the Test Builder and asks students to fill in the blanks. 2. In the second-time listening, T asks Ss to draw a mind map for the text. 3. Based on the mind map, T asks Ss to describe their connections and the problems as well as benefits of the connections. 1. Ss listen to the text carefully and take notes to help them get the key information. 2. Use their notes to draw a mind map of the text. 3. Ss use the mind map to talk about importance, problems and benefits of their connections. 1. Ss understand and catch the key information of the text. 2. Ss use the listening skill to help them take down information and organize it. 3. Help Ss apply the mind map to their own situation.Listening Activity 2 T presents two questions below to prepare Ss for the second listening material: 1. What problem did Max have 2. How did he deal with the problem Ss listen to the material carefully and try to answer the questions. Get Ss to know more about problems and solutions in connections.Explore further Activity 3 T invites Ss to discuss and share their skills and strategies to solve the problems. Ss discuss in groups about more skills and strategies to solve problems in connections and then share with the class. Get a deeper understanding of the interpersonal skills.Writing Activity T asks Ss to write a short passage based on their discussion. Ss write a short passage about the problem they have with other people and how they managed to resolve the problem. Ss apply what they have learnt in the class and summarize the discussion.Self-evaluation T shows a self-evaluation table for Ss to reflect. Ss finish the self-evaluation individually. Ss assess their performance in the class and adjust their attitude and method in the next class.Homework T assigns the homework: a. Polish the writing. Organize ideas in a logical way. Use the expressions we learnt today if necessary. b. Finish the exercises in Learning to Learn. Ss finish the homework after class.
