教学内容 分析 主题语境：人与社会 语篇类型：人物传记 语篇研读： 本节课是2019年人教版高中《英语》必修三Unit 2 Morals and Virtues的第二课时Reading and Thinking。 【What】本单元的主题围绕道德与美德（ Morals and Virtues)这一主题展开，通过探讨生活中道德困境、人生中的抉择、如何传递爱心等启发学生思考、分析、理解和领悟生活中的人与事，帮助他们树立正确的世界观、人生观和价值观，塑造良好的品格，弘场中华民族优秀文化，传承优秀传统美德。本课的活动主题是 “学习作出人生抉择” ，阅读文本是一篇人物小传，文章按照时间顺序叙述了林巧稚的一生，其中着重描写了她曾面临的人生抉择，例如：是遵守中国传统的道德观念结婚成家，还是不顾学费高昂去追求自己的医学梦？是留在条件优厚、前景美好的异国发展，还是回到苦难深重的祖国为之效力？是选择拥有自己的小家庭，还是为了中国无数的家庭而坚持不懈地工作？而林巧稚所作出的抉择无不反映了她坚定的信念、美好的心灵、高度的职业责任感和奉献精神。 【How】本文主题脉络由按照时间顺序叙述了林巧稚的一生，其中着重描写了她曾面临的人生抉择。本文的明线是在讲述林巧稚人生的经历、面临的道德困境以及她的选择，暗线则是通过林巧稚的人生经历和抉择，让学生了解她的身上美好的道德品质，去思考如何面对人生的选择和成为一个具有美好品德的人。 【Why】通过林巧稚传记的学习，使学生思考如何面对人生的抉择，全力以赴地面对人生的挑战，引导学生树立正确的道德观和价值观，自觉遵守和践行中华传统美德。树立正确的价值观，增强他们的社会责任感。
学习者 分析 学生是高二的英语学习者，已具备一定的英语语言基础。在前面的学习中，他们已经接触过一些阅读理解的训练。但是，由于文本内容偏抽象，关系到道德品质与美德等涉及较高层次的价值观，学生的思想性和语言表达会面临一定的挑战。部分学生可能关注外部信息，缺乏自主深入思考的能力。
学习目标 在本节课结束时，学生能够： 1. 语言能力： （1）能够辨别人物传记题材和文本结构，理解传记类文本的特点。 （2）通过细读文本，能够获取关键信息，理解文章。 （3）初步掌握从要点中提炼归纳人物性格和品质的能力。 2. 思维品质： 通过细读文本，分析已有信息，训练学生概括和推理的思维判断能力。 3. 文化意识： 了解林巧稚身上体现的道德品质与美德，树立正确的道德观和价值观，自觉遵守和践行中华传统美德。
教学重点 借助一系列的问题链，引导学生提取相关的信息，找到林巧稚的道德困境及选择，提炼林巧稚身上的美好的品质。
教学难点 引导学生提取相关的信息，获取关键信息。归纳提炼人物的性格和品质，培养学生概括和推理能力。

Step 3 Self -assessment
Self -assessment T asks the Ss to assess what they have mastered according to the form. Ss assess the ability they have got by grade 能根据自己情况得出相应等级分数。
Homework
Must: Read the passage with emotion three times and finish the questions of Task4 on the Page17. Optional:Write a review of Lin Qiaozhi's story. It should include her basic information, your analysis of the virtues and impact on you.(about 80 words)
