教学目标
linguistic ability
By reviewing the usage rules of rising intonation in English pronunciation and its expression meaning, students can use rising intonation correctly according to the needs of context, so as to make oral expression more accurate and natural.
learning ability
Distinguish the attitude according to the content of the speaker and his pronunciation, intonation, speed and pause.
cultural awareness
Understand the moral values and good qualities that people in different cultures value, such as kindness, dedication, selflessness, integrity, responsibility, etc
thinking capacity
Distinguish what moral dilemmas are, objectively analyze and reason the possible results and influences of different choices of people in difficulties, so as to break the thinking mode of dualism, learn to look at problems comprehensively, objectively and rationally, and then have deeper thinking and understanding of morality and human nature.
教学重难点
Help students understand the definition of "moral dilemmas".
Guide students to determine speaker’s attitudes or emotions through their content and tone of voice.
Encourage students to publish specific views and opinions of moral dilemmas.

教学过程
Step1 leading in
Watch a video to define moral dilemmas
Students look at the pictures about moral dilemmas, tell what they see in the pictures and get the topic.
1.What are the two possible choices that the boy could make
2.What will happen if he helps the old woman
3.What will happen if he doesn’t help the old woman
4.What SHOULD you do
5.What WOULD you do
Step2 pre-listening
Look at the following table, and predict what the conversation may be about
According to the information in the table, the students can guess that it may be about a girl who was faced with hard choices when taking an examination.
Step3 while-listening
Students listen to the first part of the conversation and complete the questions of “situation” and“the girl’s choice”in the table
Students discuss in pairs to predict what will happen next.
Students listen to the second part of the conversation to check their predictions and complete the table.
Students brainstorm ways of listening for attitudes. (i.e.: words & expressions, volume, intonation, speed, gestures, body language…)
Listen again and decide whether the statements are true (T) or false (F).
1. Jane is eager to share the magazine article with Luke.
2. Luke doubts that young people face moral dilemmas all the time.
3. Luke doesn’t believe anybody would do what the girl in the story did.
4. Jane admires what the girl in the story did.
5. Jane wonders how the girl became a doctor later.
Students check and explain their answers in pairs and share in class.
Students listen to the last time and answer the questions.
1. What did the girl do to help the fainted student
2. What was the girl’s name What was she famous for
3. What did Jane say about the girl
Step4 post-listening
Students discuss the good qualities of Lin Qiaozhi in group.
Talk about what you would do if you were ever faced with the same situation as the girl.
EXAMPLE
A:If I were ever in a situation like the one the girl faced, I think I would choose to ...
B:Why Are you sure
A:Because I think that ... is most important. What about you
B:I think I would ...

教学反思
本节课通过视频和例子帮助学生理解道德困境,并通过讨论和分析引导学生思考不同的选择导致的不同结果,能够激发学生的兴趣。然而课程中也存在一些问题。在课堂练习中,我过多地给予学生提示,导致学生的思维被限制。在接下来的教学过程中,我将会调整活动设计,培养学生的思考能力和创造性思维。
