1. 形容词(短语)作状语

形容词(短语)作状语: (1)说明谓语动词表示的动作发生时,主语所处的状态,可用于句首、句中或句末,常用逗号与句子其他成分隔开。 (2)表示行为方式、伴随状况、原因、时间或条件等。

2. 倍数表达法
[教材原句] And in America, people who receive 25% of their daily calories or more through sugar are twice as likely to die from heart disease than people who receive less than 10% a day.在美国,每天从糖分中摄取25%或更高卡路里的人死于心脏病的可能性是日摄取量少于10%的人的两倍。
表达倍数时,half表示一半,twice是两倍,times用于表示三倍或三倍以上。表示倍数的句型有: (1) ...times as+high/long/heavy等形容词+as...。 (2) ...times+the size/height/length/width/weight等名词+of...。 (3) ...times+bigger/higher/longer/wider/heavier等形容词比较级+than...。 (4)The+名词+be+倍数词+what引导的从句。
