It introduces theme parks mainly from the four aspects:location, rides, attractions and food or restaurants. The text aims to help students know different theme parks and write an introduction for a theme park.The text structure is from general introduction to detailed introduction. It uses adjectives,-ing form as subject and if-clauses to introduce the feature of theme parks vividly.The structure of the text is clear and logical, which is a good example for students.Teaching objectives:By the end of the class,students can:Language ability: 1. Teacher creates a situation: Nanning is going to create a Boonie Bear theme park and ask you to write an introduction to the park. Teacher asks a question: What aspects would you like to introduce lead in the topic and activate students’ existing knowledge.Fast reading Scaffold for structure Ss read the passage fast and analyze its structure and text type. Get students to have a general idea of the style, structure and the main contents.Detailed reading Scaffold for structure Divide students into three groups. Each group read a theme park and fill in the blanks. Students summarize the structure of a theme park. Help students know the content of the writing more clearly and learn to give clear description to aspects of theme parks.Appreciate the language Divide students into three groups. Each group read a theme park and circle 5adjectives, -ing as subject and if-clauses in each paragraph.
