The theme is "Sports and Fitness". In this unit something about sports is presented such as sports events, sportsmanship and the culture of sports. In this listening and speaking part, the text is about oneperson invites his or her friends to a sports event and their opinions about sports, which is related to students' daily life and are aroused interest of students. It calls for students to enjoy sports, learn from the sportsmanship and have a general understanding of sports culture.Analysis of the studentsSenior one students are full of curiosity and thirst for knowledge. They can better obtain basic information such as what, when and where, but they still need to improve in combing and integrating information. In terms of oral expression, students have a general understanding of how to invite friends to a sports event, but their grasp of the use of some sentence patterns is not accurate and the relevant knowledge reserve is not systematic and comprehensive. One task concerning the main idea of this listening material is designed for students to complete by solo. Then the next task for students is to listen for specific information and catch some useful expressions of inviting. Moreover, students will finish the task that is to invite friends to a sports event in pairs with the words, sentence patterns and expressions. Finally, some statements are presented and students exchange their opinions in group of four. These tasks, designed for students, is a process from input to output. Consequently, students will consolidate they learned in time and are completely involved in learning.III. Instructions on students learning strategies1.Listening strategyListening is a silent and individual activity. There are two levels in the act of listening: A general recognition task of preserving the theme and the topic on the basis of visual signals. A cognitive task of obtaining the specific information in the materials, utilizing expressions in daily communication. Therefore, students need to develop some listening strategies such as intensive listening, extensive listening, global listening, selective listening and so on. In this lesson students are instructed to develop the mentioned listening strategies above.2.Communicative strategyIt is important to make students learn that some non-verbal devices such as gestures, facial expressions, body language contribute to verbal expressions to state themselves clearly and logically in the oral presentation in group and class.3.Resource strategyIt is important channel for students to learn from the sports events in their reality as well as books, magazines, and the Internet. Students should develop their ability to collect useful and needed information from a vast sea of information in the information era. Simultaneously, students are required to search information to complete the tasks in the assignment after class.IV.
