And she answer for this letter through giving some useful suggestions. 二、Why:By learning this lesson: (一)We can enable students learn to write a letter of advice; (二)We can enable students improve their ability to analyze and solve problems. 三、How: (一)text type : The text type of this passage is a letter of advice. (二)structure: The structure of a letter of advice includes: Date, Greeting, Body, Close and Signature.学 情 分 析 The subject of this lesson is the students in grade two of rural high school. 一、Students have some basic knowledge of English already and they have strong interest and are eager to learn English; 二、But students are not very good at writing and they are unfamiliar with how to write a letter of advice.教 学 目 标 Knowledge objectives: After this lesson: (一)We can help students master some useful expressions about a letter of advice. (二)We can enable students to master the structure of letter of advice. 二、Ability objectives: After this lesson: (一)We can train students' reading (skimming &scanning) and writing skills. (二)We can train students' ability to write a letter of advice. 三、Emotional objective: After this lesson: We can help students know the problems that are bothering others and can offer some suggestions.教 学 重 难 点 Important points: After learning: (一)We can help students master the language structure of letter of advice. (二)We can train students write a letter of advice based on the structure. Difficult points: After learning: We can help students write a letter of advice to help others and give the reasons.课 前 准 备 In order to make my teaching process smoothly, I did the following preparation: 一、Before teaching, I carefully analyze the theme, text type, content, language expressions and structure of the article. 二、Prepare teaching aids according to the text content and teaching needs. Such as: multimedia, textbooks, etc.教 学 方 法 To achieve the objectives of this lesson, I choose the appropriate teaching method according to the content and objectives of the article and the ability level of the students. In this course, I adopts the TBLT teaching method. Because it can achieve the objectives of improving students’ reading and writing skills by completing tasks. I also adopts the Cooperative learning method and Independent learning method to improve the students’ motivation of learning with others and help students become autonomous learners.教 学 过 程 围绕教学内容,突出关键问题、学生活动、教学反馈设计。侧重回答学生怎么到? 一、Lead-in Teacher will ask students the three following questions: 1.Do you have any trouble in high school as a freshman (students may say “yes”) 2.Who would you ask for help (students may say “family, teachers and classmates”) 3.What would you do if your classmates asked you for help (students may say “to help them analyse the trouble and give some advice”) [Purpose]To stimulate students’ interest and activate students’ background knowledge. 二、Reading (一)Read for information Teacher will ask students to skim the text quickly and answer the following questions: (Teacher: Boys and girls, Please read the article quickly and fill in the blank.) Task 1: Read and fill in the blank. This is a letter of advice written by Susan Luo. [Purpose]Help students quickly grasp the text type and main idea of the text. Task 2: Read and answer. Teacher will ask students to read the text carefully and answer the following questions: (Teacher: Boys and girls, here’s a student who have problem and ask for help. Please read the article carefully and fill in the blank.) 1.What is Worried Friend's problem 2.What is Ms Luo's advice 3.Do you think Ms Luo's advice is helpful (students may say “yes, they’re helpful”) ProblemHis friend plays computer games too often and spends too much time online.Ms Luo's adviceHe can talk to his friend about his behaviour; He should encourage his friend to try new hobbies.[Purpose]Help students get more detail information and deeply understand the text. (二)Read for structure Task 3: Study the outline: Teacher will ask students to pay attention and summarize the outline : (Teacher: Boys and girls, please focus on and summarize the outline of this letter.) [Purpose]Let students grasp the outline and learn how to write a letter of advice. Task 4: Study the organization: Teacher will ask students to find and mark the parts of the letter that match the following points. (Teacher: Boys and girls, please find and match the suitable parts of the letter.) [Purpose]Let students master the organization and learn how to organize a letter of advice. (三)Read for language features Task 5: What expressions does Ms Luo use to make suggestions Circle them. Teacher will ask students to find and circle the expressions that Ms Luo used to make suggestions. (Teacher: Boys and girls, Ms Luo make some useful suggestions about the student’s problem. please find and circle the expressions .) (students may find out and circle the following useful expressions :) 1.I recommend that.... 2.I think you should.... 3.Why not ... [Purpose]Let students master the language features and some useful expressions to promote the next step of writing. Teacher will ask students to summarize the outline and organization. (Teacher: Boys and girls, let’s summarize the outline and organization of a letter of advice.) [Purpose]Let students know the outline and useful expressions clearly so as to help them prepare for the writing. 三、Writing Task 6: Choose one of the teenagers to discuss his/ her problem. In this group work, teacher will ask students to summarize the outline and organization. (Teacher: Boys and girls, please work in groups in four and choose your problems to discuss and give some suggestions and your reasons.) Task 7: Write a letter of advice . Teacher will ask students to Write a letter of advice based on their discussion. (Teacher: Boys and girls, please work in groups in four and choose one of your problems to discuss and give some suggestions and your reasons.) [Purpose] (1)Let the students learn to write a letter of advice based on the outline and the content they discussed; (2)To train the students' writing skills. Teacher will offer the sample for students and ask them to focus on the structure. (Teacher: Boys and girls, here is the example. Please focus on its expressions) 四.Summary Teacher will ask students to summarize what they have learn t in this class. (Teacher: Boys and girls, please summarize what you have learn t today.) [Purpose]Help the students remember the important points of this lesson. Teacher will ask students to enjoy some famous sayings and their meanings. (Teacher: Boys and girls, here are some famous sayings of helping others .)
