教 材 分 析 本节课的课型属于阅读课,选自人教版高中英语必修一第三单元。 本单元的主题是运动和健康,这篇阅读材料话题“传奇人物”也紧扣本单元话题“运动”。它讲述了两位健在的体育界传奇人物——郎平和迈克尔·乔丹。这篇文章有助于学生进一步地了解这两位体育偶像,并学会欣赏他们的品质。它也有助于提高学生的阅读技能和理性思维能力。
学 情 分 析 本节课授课对象是高一2206班的学生,由于这个班是平行班,学生的英语基础知识相对薄弱。但是通过之前对初中英语阅读的学习,学生也掌握了基本的阅读理解技巧,像寻读,略读,预测等阅读技能,他们也能对一些问题进行对话讨论。但是,学生的词汇量不是很大,对文中出现的一些长难句和比喻,重复,押韵等手法不理解,对有些句子所隐含的话外之音也不是很清楚。
教 学 目 标 By the end of the class, students can: 1.Learn to make prediction and introduce some famous living legends; 2. Show opinions about those living legends by using key words and phrase; 3. Analyze and integrate the given information with the help of a mind; 4. Develop logical and critical thinking; 5.Appreciate the living legends' qualities and attach importance to sportsmanship.
教 学 重 难 点 Teaching key points: Enable students to identify the structures and languages features of the text; Enable students to learn some reading skills. Such as skimming, scanning. Teaching difficult point: Enable students to summarize the good qualities of Lang Ping and Michael Jordan. Help students grasp and use some words and phrases to describe the qualities of outstanding athletes.
课 前 准 备 Firstly, select the passage, then be familiar with the content of this lesson carefully, and make clear the teaching objectives and difficulties of this lesson, finally, list the outline.

While-reading General Tasks---Who What Why (mind map) Task1---Who Q:Who can be called a“Living Legend of Sports” A living legend must be: 1. a master in his sport. 2. a good example for others. (Justification: Let students have a certain understanding of the concept of living legends.) Task2-- -What Why Enjoy the videos about Lang Ping and Jordan, and choose the preferred one to read and discuss. Group work (S1/S2/S3/S4) S1- how successful (information about “master”) S2- how did he/she make it (information about “example”) S3-what can we learn from him/her S4-reporter Task 3 Read the text and decide what is stated in the text (S), what can be inferred (I), and what you know to be true from experience (E). Thinking Do you think the behavior of the following athletes accord with (符合) the sportsmanship (体育精神) in you heart Why (Justification:1. To improve thinking quality; 2. To develop linguistic competence; 3. To raise moral education.) Summary Let students summarize what we have learnt today. (Justification: Cultivate students’ organization and expression ability.) Homework Write a report to introduce Lang Ping or Michael Jordan within 100 words and show it next class. Read the text again to find the language points which are difficult for you. Surf the Internet for more information about Lang Ping and Michael Jordan. (Justification:1. To turn the input into output and improve writing;2. 教 学 反 思 In terms of my teaching, I'd like to make a brief reflection. Firstly, I have designed proper questions to arouse the students' interest and curiosity.so that it s natural for them to move to the topic of the passage.This part helps to develop the students' thinking quality.Secondly, more attention has been paid to students' subjective learning ability and I only serve as a guide.Thus,their learning capability can be greatly improved .Thirdly, by cooperating with each other in careful reading part, students can enhance their linguistic competence. Finally, what the passage conveys to the students deeply increases their cultural awareness and gives them excellent personality education, which is the main benefit they have got in the lesson.
