教学过程：
Step one: Greeting
Step two: Leading-in
Lead students to enjoy a short video and ask them to think about a question: Should the sea be explored
学生活动：
Discussion: What are the advantages and disadvantages of sea exploration (Group work)
Then ask some to share their ideas.
Finally, lead them to look at PPT and learn some advantages and disadvantages of sea exploration.
Advantages: discover new species; detect energy resources; predict potential disasters
Disadvantages: plastic waste; overfishing; oil leaking
Step three: Reading
Task1Fast reading Skim the passage(P32) and finish exercises.
What is the text type of the two texts
Answer: Argumentative essay.
2. What are the two authors’ opinions about the sea exploration
Answer: Text 1opposed; Text 2 supportive.
3. What are the three parts in argumentative essay
Answer: argument论点; evidence论据; restatement重申/recommendation推荐/a call to action号召
教师活动：文本整体理解: 理清文章架构
Task2 Careful reading Lead them to check the main arguments, sub-points and evidence of the two texts.
Then, lead students to make a conclusion of the structure.
Task3 Post reading: Summarize ways to improve the points (facts, examples, cause and effect, statistics, quotes, expert opinions, personal experience, anecdotal evidence)
Step four: Writing
Write an argumentative essay on sea exploration.
1.Express your opinions with supporting facts.
2.Employ some effective writing methods and expressions.
3.Use the PEEL method to help you structure your argument.
作业布置：
1. Write your draft and exchange it with a partner and use the checklist to help each other revise the drafts.
2. Hand in the writing.

这节课的亮点:
一、信息技术与课堂的融合能够激发学生的学习兴趣，提高教学效率。二、关注学生，学生参与度高。通过个人阅读、同桌讨论、小组讨论等形式让所有学生都能参与到课堂中。三、循序渐进。教学活动层层递进，考虑到学生的最近发展区，课程设计由已知到未知，逐步增加新知识，逻辑感较强。
这节课的不足:
在本节课中，为提高课堂效率，每一次抛出的问题都选择了积极举手的同学来回答，忽略了班级中稍微内向和沉默的同学。在今后的教学中，应该做好关注督促这部分同学积极思考以及回答问题。只有这样，才能真正地让所有的学生都动起来。
