3.learn about discourse markers and write down them mentioned in the conversation through intensive listening;
4.use what they have learnt to discuss their opinions on robots and AI.
Teaching Theme
听力内容是电台播出的一档科幻作品专家的访谈节目。专家Simon研究科幻作品,了解作品中的科学技术与现实生活的关联。整个访谈内容以及机器人三定律的内涵都值得学生关注和思考。从语言运用和对话交际策略来看,主持人运用了转换话题的技巧。因此,教材设计了“听取话语标记”的听力策略,提示学生在语言
分析与运用时能注意关注、理解话语标记的不同功能,提升逻辑思维和语言的理解与表达能力。
Teaching key points
Guide students to master some expressions about robots and artificial intelligence before listening;
Listen to a conversation about robots and artificial intelligence.
Guide students to learn discourse markers, and sort out the logical order of dialogue through discourse markers in the process of listening carefully.

Teaching procedures
Step 1 Lead-in
通过呈现问题,带领学生列举他们所熟悉的机器人。
Have you ever communicated with a robot What kind of robots do you know about
Step 2 Pre-listening
带领学生完成活动1,观察图片,和同伴讨论如下问题:
What jobs are these robots doing What are the pros and cons of robots doing these jobs
What kinds of robots or AI developments do you hope for
Step 3 While-listening
让学生泛听对话,获取文章大意。
What are the key aspects mentioned in the interview
让学生再次听录音,完成活动2,将所示句子排序。
带领学生学习话语标记,接着让学生完成活动3,记录对话中话语标记的使用。
让学生听录音,将所示听力文本补充完整。
Step 4 Post-listening
带领学生结合教材所提供的转换话题的功能句总结学生自己熟知的话语标记。

Teaching Objectives
By the end of this section, students will be able to:
grasp the meaning and usage of some key words in specific contexts;
memorize and distinguish some words related to money;
use the correct forms of the words to complete an exercise about AI development;
discuss their opinion on AI development with their partner.
Teaching Theme
该部分活动注重词汇运用,鼓励学生利用构词法构建词汇语义网络进行词汇学习,在选材上为学生继续探究机器人与人工智能的话题提供了更多的素材。

Teaching Objectives

2.use the passive voice in specific contexts and understand its meaning;
3.analyze the content and language style of introductions about science fiction novels.
Teaching Theme
本单元的目标是复习、巩固动词的被动语态,强化对进行时被动语态的理解和认知。语法部分的活动结合主题意义的探究展开。活动由浅入深,注重“发现—归纳—运用”的过程。

带领学生复习被动语态的用法;
引导学生运用被动语态完成相关练习。

引导学生分析图书简介的内容和语言风格。

Step 1 Lead-in
带领学生一起回顾被动语态的基本形式,激活学生已有的背景知识。
Step 2 Presentation
让学生寻读文章,画出文章中含有被动语态的句子,并试着把这些句子变成主动语态。接着老师呈现问题,引发学生思考。

接着让学生将找出来的这些句子分为谓语动词和非谓语动词的被动语态两组。

让学生完成活动2,用括号内单词的适当形式完成句子,接着翻译句子。

Step 4 Production
让学生完成活动3,用所给单词的正确形式完成一篇有关《三体》的简介。核对完答案后,让学生阅读该图书简介,思考如下问题:

How does he / she convey his / her purpose
让学生完成Workbook语法部分的活动3,借助括号内的中文提示,将一篇有关《沙丘》的简介补充完整。
呈现相关问题,引导学生归纳优秀图书简介所具备的优点以及行文特点。

What are the good qualities represented in these introductions
让学生完成Workbook语法部分的活动4,列出一些现有的环境问题以及它们的成因,接着写出相应的应对策略。
Step 5 Homework
Summarize the usage of passive voice.
