教学目标
By the end of the class,students will be able to 1.perceive and notice the terrible living conditions ofthe poor animals around us. 2.acquire and comb what an animal rescue centre is and the useful tips to start an animal rescue centre. 3.plan an animal rescue centre for homeless animals and design a poster for it. 4.arouse the awareness of protecting animals by learning the changes of relationship between humans and animals all through history.
教学内容
教学重点： 1.感知人类与动物在漫长历史中的关系变化并注意我们周围可怜小动物的恶劣生存环境。 2.通过头脑风暴总结与梳理救护我们周围可怜小动物的方法，唤起保护动物的意识和热情。 教学难点： 1.学习与掌握动物救护中心的职责并为流浪动物建立一个动物救护中心。 2.使用海报文体描述、宣传所设计的动物救护中心，培养社会责任感以及创新和批判性思维 能力。
教学过程
Step 1.Lead-in Show the video of wild animals being poached and ask questions: Q1.After watching the video,how do you feel Q2.What should the relationship between humans and animals be like Q3.What has the relationship between humans and animals changed all through history Q4.What should we do to protect the poor animals around us Q5:What other measure can be taken by us Step 2.Reading and thinking Please read the report of an animal rescue centre on page 23 and answer the following questions: Q1.What is the rescue centre called Q2.Who started it Q3.What animals were rescued Q4.What can it do to help the animals Q5.What help does the centre need Step 3.Carry out the project In order to help the homeless animals in our city effectively,the govemment would like to set up an animal rescue centre for them.Now please work in groups to help the government to plan it. Activity 1:Discuss to find the solutions to the following questions. Q1.What will it be called (the name,the slogan or logo) Q2.Where should the centre be built (the specific location) Q3.What can we do to help the animals (the plan /the measures) Q4.What skills or equipment do you need (the need) Q5.What help could people offer (suggestions) Activity 2:Design a poster in groups Q1.What is the structure of a poster Q2.What are the steps of making an effective poster for your animal rescue centre Step 4.Present and access your project Assess your poster by following the criteria below.Whether the poster includes: 1.the name ofthe rescue centre
2.the animals rescued 3.the location ofthe rescue centre 4.the help,skills or equipment that the center needs 5.a concise and attractive title 6.powerful and eye-catching pictures 7.clear and reasonable content Step 5.Summary 1.Learn the changes ofrelationship between humans and animals all through history. 2.Summarize the ways to help he poor animals around us and understand what an animal rescue centre is. 3.Grasped the useful tips to start an animal rescue centre. 4.Apply what have been internalized to plan an animal rescue centre for homeless animals and create a poster to describe it Step 6.Assignment Activity 1:Polish your poster and post it in our class. Activity 2:There are many stray pets in our streets and communities.They lead a hard life and need our help badly.Please plan an animal rescue centre for them and design a poster to describe it and ask for help.
