Analyses of teaching materials This lesson is selected from the first unit Integrated skills (P8-9)of the New Translated Forest Edition of the Senior high School English Textbook.The theme context of this unit is "human and nature"and the topic is "environment and environmental protection",aiming to help students realize the importance of environmental protection and cultivate students'environmental awareness.Each section of the whole unit involves multiple aspects of "environment and environmental protection",and this part of the textbook uses "animal protection" to create a situation,allowing students to read a news report about the negative impact of human activities on animals,understand the importance of animal protection and methods of animal protection,and guide students to perceive the importance of nature protection in an all-round way through listening and watching videos.And find a solution.
Analysis of Students The class is senior one.After almost a year's study,they have accumulated some vocabulary and sentence patterns,which can express their emotions correctly. But the majority of boys,little interest in English,lack of self-confidence. Because of the fear of making mistakes,the opportunity to practice less,the improvement of language ability is not obvious.Therefore,this class mainly stimulates their interest in learning,encourages them to participate in class activities,and improves their enthusiasm.
Teaching Objectives After learning this lesson,students are expected to: 1.Language ability: In terms of language ability,students can master the structure and content of this passage,improve their ability to summarize and analyze the discourse; 2.Learning ability: In terms of learning ability,students can identify and extract the key content in the passage and video; 3.Thinking quality: In terms of thinking quality,students can think about the relationship between human activities and nature; 4.Cultural character: In terms of cultural awareness,students can perceive and understand the causes of animals'struggling situations,reflecting our own shortcomings and learning about the urgency of protecting nature and animals from the perspective of the world view.
Important &Difficult Points: 1.To analyze the causes for animals'being endangered; 2.To build a mind gap to deepen the understanding of the structure; 3.To improve the ability of obtaining information in the passage and video.
