Analysis of the textbook for this lesson:The textbook used in this lesson is Unit 6 Space and Beyond Using language,Volume 4 of the Optional Compulsory Foreign Study Edition (2019).The course focuses on space and astronautics,including ways to explore and understand space,NASA missions,and the lives of space scientists,
Objective:By learning this lesson,students should be able to
master the following aspects of English knowledge and ability:1) Be able to use relevant vocabulary and phrases to describe space exploration and space missions;2)Able to understand the introduction of space scientists and sort out key information;3)Be able to use the knowledge and information learned to conduct group discussions and write articles on space exploration.
Teaching focus:The teaching focus of this lesson mainly includes the mastery of space exploration vocabulary and phrases,the understanding of NASA missions and space scientists,and the
development of English listening,speaking,reading and writing
skills.
Teaching difficulty:The teaching difficulty of this lesson lies in the improvement of students'ability to understand and describe space exploration and space missions,and the cultivation of skills on how to organize and extract key information.
Analysis of learning situation:In the second grade of senior high school,the English level of the students has basically reached the middle and advanced level,and they have mastered certain basic English knowledge and skills.Students may have some interest and curiosity about topics such as space exploration and space missions,but may not know much about them.In addition,students may need to improve their listening, speaking,reading and writing skills.
Teaching strategy:Based on the analysis of school situation,we can adopt scenarioteaching and other heuristic teaching strategies to stimulate students'learning interest and improve

their enthusiasm and initiative.At the same time,it can also guide students to carry out cooperative learning,promote mutual learning and cooperation among students through group discussion and other ways,and improve their listening, speaking,reading and writing ability.
Teaching methods:According to the teaching objectives and teaching strategies,a variety of teaching methods can be adopted,such as demonstration teaching,scenario simulation, group discussion,task-based teaching,etc.Through demonstration teaching and scenario simulation,real space exploration scenarios and space missions are shown to help students understand relevant knowledge.At the same time, through group discussion and task-based teaching,students are guided to think positively and cooperate,improve their listening,speaking,reading and writing ability,and finally complete the class task successfully.
The teaching process is as follows:
Lead-in (5 minutes):

Teaching content:Introduce students to the understanding of space and the universe.
Teaching activities:First,I will show students a picture of the universe and use questions such as:"What do you know about the universe "What do you know about stars in space,black holes,planets,etc. "Students are then invited to discuss and share their knowledge and opinions together.After that,I will play a video about space to arouse students'curiosity and interest.
Classroom interaction (35 minutes):
Content:Learn the key words and phrases in the article "Mission to Mars",and understand the main content and structure of the article.
Teaching activities:First,I will show the title of the article to the students and explain that today we are going to study an article about the Mars exploration mission.Then,in small groups,I would hand out essays to students and ask them to read the title,the subtitle,and the first sentence of each paragraph, then collaborate and try to guess the general content of the essay.Next,I'll ask several groups to share their guesses,along

with some suggestions and guidance.Next,I will guide the students to read the whole passage together and explain the meaning of the new words and phrases as they read.After reading,I will lead the class to analyze the structure of the article and discuss the main idea of each paragraph and the relationship between paragraphs.
End session (5 minutes):
Content:Summarize the course content and encourage students to ask questions and discuss.
Teaching activities:At the end of the session,I will give a brief summary of the main points of the lesson and encourage students to raise any questions or ideas that they are not clear about and discuss and answer them with the class.I will highlight important learning points and techniques and encourage further self-directed learning and reading after class.
Through these lead-in,class interaction,and closing sessions, students will be able to improve their reading and discussion skills,actively participate in class interactions,and deepen their understanding of the texts and topics as they explore space and
the universe
Teaching reflection:
In this lesson,I used multimedia materials and introduced vivid and interesting stories to help students understand and attract their attention.The course content mainly includes some knowledge about space and historical events.
In the teaching reflection,I found the following problems:
1.Not diverse enough.When I asked questions,I mainly used single choice and true or false questions,which may limit students'thinking ability and answer ways.Next time I can try to use open questions to encourage more discussion and reflection.
2.Time is not evenly distributed.In this lesson,I spent too much time in the introduction,resulting in insufficient time for

follow-up practice.Next time,I will arrange my time reasonably and make sure that the time of each link is allocated reasonably so that the students can fully practice and master the knowledge.
In response to the above problems,I put forward the following improvement plans:
1.Ask a variety of questions.Next time,I will try to use open questions and discussion questions,encourage students to think and discuss deeply,and give them enough time and space to answer the questions.
2.Manage your time wisely.I will plan the time of each link to ensure that each link has enough time,and there will not be too long or too short situations.At the same time,I will estimate the time of each link when preparing the lesson,so as to ensure the smooth progress of the teaching.

In this class,I realized that in the teaching process,we should pay attention to the diversity of questioning methods,and we should arrange time reasonably to ensure that the time allocation of each link is reasonable.At the same time,the time of each link should be estimated when preparing the lesson,so as to avoid the problem of unbalanced time distribution.
