Analysis of teaching materials:
This lesson is taken from Unit 5 of the Optional Compulsory Volume 4 of the Foreign Studies Edition(2019).The topic is "Into the Unknown Understanding ideas".In this lesson,you will learn some basic knowledge and discoveries about Mars by reading an article about Mars exploration.The content of the textbook is closely related to contem porary science and technology and exploration theme,which has certain knowledge and interest.
Teaching objectives:
1.Learn background knowledge about Mars,such as its shape, surface,climate,etc.
2.Cultivate students'interest and curiosity in scientific and technological topics,stimulate students'imagination and creativity.
3.Improve students'reading comprehension,including main

Analysis of learning situation:
Students are senior two students,generally good at English and interested in scientific and technological topics.But due to the lack of actual contact,relatively little is known about Mars. Students can cooperate well with each other,and are good at analyzing problems and finding ways to solve them.

Teaching strategy:
1.Stimulate students'interest:Stimulate students'interest in Mars exploration and improve the classroom atmosphere by introducing scientific and technological topics,displaying pictures and videos.
2.Guide students to think:ask questions and guide students to think,and cultivate students'analysis and reasoning ability.
3.Provide cooperative learning opportunities:Organize group discussions, cooperate to answer questions, promote cooperation and communication among students,and encourage students to learn and share with each other in the teaching process.

End session (approx.5 minutes):
1.Summary:Summarize the key content learned in this lesson and check whether students have mastered it.
2.Provide feedback:Share excellent ideas and questions in class interaction with students,and answer questions that students may have.

In the teaching of this class,I found that students'ability in

reading comprehension needs to be improved.When answering questions,they often rely too much on the literal meaning,without being able to deeply understand the main idea of the article and the author's point of view.In order to solve this problem,I need to strengthen students'reading comprehension ability in teaching and cultivate their independent thinking and reasoning ability.
In addition,I also found that students have some difficulties in understanding the new words and phrases in the text.In the future teaching,I will pay more attention to vocabulary teaching,help students master the important words in the text, and guide them to use these words for extended reading and writing exercises.
Overall,there is room for improvement in the teaching of this class.Through in-depth analysis of the problems,I will pay more attention to students'reading comprehension ability and vocabulary mastery,and provide more exercises and guidance in teaching to help students better understand and use the knowledge in the text.
