教材分析
该板块以“描述你的高中第一天”(Describe your first senior high school day) 为主题， 主语篇以网络新媒体的形式呈现了高中新生Han Jing发布在个人网页上的四个小语段，内 容涉及个人心理活动、教室上课、老师印象、同学相处等方面。文章题材新颖，内容贴近 学生实际生活。Han Jing 在描述还体现着对未来的憧憬和信心，充满正能量。通过阅读， 学生除了体会主人公积极向上的精神外，还可以了解关于谈论自身经历和感受的词汇和句 式。读后任务是结合自身情况，谈论自己高中第一天的生活。词汇学习板块复现了主语篇 中的重点单词和词块，并训练学生在新的语境中运用这些语言知识。
教学目标
1.能正确理解并使用下列单词和词块：anxious,annoyed,frightened,awkward,p.m.,a.m., outgoing,impression,impress,guy,concentrate,experiment,junior,explore,confidence,senior high school,make an impression,what if,concentrate on,leave...alone,junior high school

Task 1 Describe your first senior high school day
Step 1 Warming-up
1.It is the first day of school.The boys and girls are on the way to school.Look at the pictures and discuss the following questions
What is the main difference between the girls and the boys inthe pictures
Can you describe how the girls and the boys look Please use as many adjectives as possible to describe their mood and feelings.
设计意图：用图片呈现的方式创设语境，引导学生通过观察，讨论在开学第一天上学路上 的两组男孩和女孩的不同，并用自己储备的形容词还描述他们的心情和感受。在引出本版
块主题语境的同时，为读前单词复习活动做好铺垫。
Step 2 Pre-reading

设计意图：阅读活动前引导学生通过观察标题和图片对语篇内容进行预测和讨论，有助于 引起学生的探索兴趣。

设计意图：读后活动设计为口头讲述自己高中开学第一天的经历。考虑到不同层次学生的 需求，给出了一组句子框架来帮助拓展思路和开口。
Task 2 Word Study
1.Work on Activity.Complete the passage about Tian Hua's school life in America
with the correct forms of the words and phrases on P5 of your book.
2. 文化知识——美国高中简介
美国现有30000多所，分为公立高中、私立走读高中和私立住宿高中。其中公立高中 和私立走读高中共有29000多所，私立住宿高中(Boarding School)共有300多所。公立 高中的经费一般由政府资助，学校的硬件较好，学校的规模一般有几千名学生；学校为学 生提供免费教材，但教材是学校的，不能带回家，只能在学校内公用，学生损坏了教材需 要赔偿。私立高中办学规模不大，几百学生；走的是“小而精”的办学路线；云集一流的 生源、一流的师资队伍和一流的教学质量。私立住宿高中除了具备私立高中的条件外，一 般都有100年以上的历史；校园宽广，条件好。全美国有300多所私立住宿高中；美国的 社会名流、工商、政要的子女一般都选择私立住宿高中。选择美国私立住宿高中，一般可 入读美国前100名的大学。
美国中学于每年九月开课，至次年六月上旬结业，为期约三十六周，共分两个学期。
每学年包括两个主要假期(暑假和圣诞节假期)和两个小假期(感恩节假期和复活节假期), 和一些只有一天的假期(通常这种假期是连着周末)。
美国公立高中一般有四个必修科目，三个选修科目，必修课一般为：数学，英语，科 学，社会学。选修课：高等数学、艺术、艺术史、计算机、当代历史、创造性写作、摄影、 世界问题、音乐、音乐欣赏、出版与年鉴、戏剧、演讲、合唱、室内乐，JROTC(美国预备 役少年军官训练营)。
